I'm sure your choice will most likely be Majora's Mask, so if it is that, what's your second.

Also, lets add a cherry to this topic.  Worst (excluding CD-i, that's just cheating) and best Zelda title.  Shoot.


As for myself, MM is the darkest game.  I found Link's Awakening though to have a semi bittersweet ending.

As for worst title?  I'll get back to you on that.

Darkest: I'm going to throw a curveball and say Windwaker. That game doesn't look dark, but it is in sublimal messages.

I'd also say MM/OOT/WW for darkest themes. TP was just... meh of a Zelda game to me
The best Zelda's I've played are MM/OOT SS and WW
The worst for me anyway, are TP and PH they're not terrible games though, but one was just trying to hard and the other had that god awful dungeon that really killed it.

Favorite Zelda: Twilight Princess (GCN) (If I could marry this game, I would.)
Least Favorite Zelda: As crazy as this may sound, I'll have to say Skyword Sword. (I'm not going to say why)

Darkest: I would like to say a tie between a Link to the past and Majora's Mask, but Majora's Mask is the darkest.
Worst: Twilight Princess. The game tried to hard to copy MM and the Wolf gameplay became extremily tiresome. The howling also sucked compaired to instraments.
Best: Windwaker, no contest.

Without a doubt, Majora's Mask.
That game made me sad, stressed, irritated and even made me cry a little once when I played it as a child.
It was just the storyline and the tone that made it feel so dark and evil.

I will have to say that Twilight Princess is the darkest. I really like the "atmosphere" of the game. The mature graphics helps with the dark tone as well. The game just have a creepy feeling. xD I haven't played a lot of Majora's Mask...so who knows if my opinion will change.

My favorite LoZ game has to be WindWaker and Link's Awakening.

The worst that I've played...I'll just say Legend of Zelda (yes...the original NES). That's because...I lose patience quickly.

Darkest: Zelda II. They are literally out for your blood in that game!

Best: Skyward Sword.

Worst: Twilight Princess, for many of the same reasons as Pyro, along with an almost barren overworld made up of continent sized plains with enemies few and far between.

BEST: OOT- come on its a freaking classic and half of my childhood
