They are pretty much FORCED into trying new schemes.

Theire hardware business is a failure and their sofware is being eaten up by Google, Apple, and others, who make competing software for free, due to their business models roviding alternate revenue streams.

The removal of basic features that can be added back in...

No thanks.


Nobody likes that and people would in fact ratther PAY up front for the finished product.

Nothing is fee.

I'd like to know too. The technical preview is not missing anything and Microsoft is not stupid enough to remove features without warning. I expect they will bring back the Work+Play bundle, but that is not mandatory for most people.

How can anyone seriously complain about that? I suppose if you're a die hard Minesweeper fan...

It's not about how "minor" the removals are.

It's Microsoft. It's a small test that will allow for more very soon.

That's pure speculation. You have no idea what they plan to do. Them taking away Minesweeper and other unimportant features isn't a sign that they're going to take away other important features then charge us to use them.

Technically they just replaced Minesweeper with the Windows Store version which you can download for free.

Have VLC player so don't care. Win10 is awesome. Apple removed the disc drive FFS

I've been using it for about a week. I spent about 24 hours trying to get it to install because Windows Update was Borked, the Installer/Easy tool was borked, I had to change my CD Drive read type from SATA to IDE, and I had to uninstall my Anti-virus to get it to install.

 

It's cool, but definitely wait if you're not enthusiastic about it.

Screen rotates upside down when I put my "tablet" in portrait mode...

 

Weird Chrome issues where it sometimes doesn't respond to touch.

 

Battery life isn't a bug, but it's horrendous.

 

Sims 2 no longer works with Windows 10 (This was on our desktop PC though, and I tried different compatibility modes)

 

My friend has an issue where he can't open the start menu, search, task view menu, battery icon, wifi, etc... so he basically can't do anything...

 

Idk if this is a bug, but ever since I got 10 I've gotten an update for Windows Defender EVERY day...

 

Also, this is not a bug, but I can't seem to find a windows 10 compatible driver for Splendid Utility, it stopped working properly in W 10, but supposedly Asus updated it with a fix but I didn't get anything...

Do you have a Book Flip? I have the TP500LN and have the rotation isue.

 

Not sure about Splendid, I did a clean reinstall and I did not put Splendid back on.

I have the same exact computer actually... i3 processor and 720p screen, correct?

EDIT: I lied... Mine is the TP500LA.

I have the i5 and Nvidia 840m, with 15" 1366x768 screen. I tried to get a version with the SSD cache but I couldn't find one, so I upgraded the drive to a 1TB Hybrid.

 

Aside from the rotation problem, Windows 10 works wonderfully on this laptop. It even replaced the Asus driver with an Elan version that gives me better control - though it means that FlipLock can't disable it anymore.

If you reinstall smart gesture it fixes that, I had that issue for a while.

 

But after you do that, you can still access your Elan settings.
