Miyamoto never totally denied it. He said he was "satisfied" with the older version of the handheld, and was more interested in the successor. The press spun his words to suggest Nintendo wasn't working on one.

I really wonder if the early adopters new what they were getting themselves into. I don't see the outrage yet, but it's stupid to be outraged. When you buy anything earlier in the cycle, you're going to get screwed over because you're buying a v1.0 revision.I am so horsing mad right now. horsing pathetic Nintendo.
So many horses.
That's the same across the tech industry, I have an early all in one that launched with 7, it is starting to die out because for PC makers, all in ones were 1.0 hardware. Same thing with iPhone 1 and iPhone 3G, same thing with Windows Phone, same thing with Ultrabooks and the original MacBook Air (Intel Atom, they're faster now but back then, they were slow. Im using a 2nd gen netbook with Atom and it is sloow).
On the gaming side: Xbox 360, had numerous internal revisions to better cool the system well before the stealthbox. The 360 only came in 20GB model, no Wi-Fi,no HDMI on the early versions only after the Elite came out. PS3, 60GB and 20GB were prone to YLOD, the models after than, no such problem. Features were drop to accomodate lower prices and the general system was better planned for cooling.
It occurs everywhere and well this is why only enthusiast fans should buy things on day one and not fanboys that have no idea what the consequences of being an early adopter can be.
I own a 3DS, I saw it coming, I didn't wait because I bricked my DS, didn't want to buy a DSi and bought a 3DS 2 days after launch for Pokemon White .
I welcome it, I played the Rayman Origins demo, and Heroes of Ruin and it really does show how small the 3DS screen is, especially in rayman origins.People wanted a 3DS with a Matte finish, I don't know if they wanted a bigger one tho.

My body was definitely NOT ready for that Nintendo Direct.
Ehh, I know I'm going to buy the thing eventually through the year it releases anyway.
As for that Nintendo Direct I didn't particularly find anything interesting. More things to inform myself on information I already know.
