I guess then we are predicting the wii u will have a seperate wii gpu integrated for backwards compatibility rather than a heavily modified gpu that can emulate wii graphics? It seems peoples's expectations are for a near enough identical version of a PC gpu rather than a costed, feature reduced version.

As far as I understand it, its quite possible to take a mainstream pc gpu and strip out features. Is it possible we will end up with a feature rich gpu that actually performs below that of the 360 gpu in actual polygons etc?

@Desert Punk Yes, it is possible that they could take away all advanced features and make the gpu worse then the stock version. But one, why would they do that, and two I don't thinj anyone ... Including Nintendo ... Has ever done that. They have customized it for games, sure, but not make.it worse then the stock gpu. So I don't get why they would now.

Finally the rumors of the wii u's power being equal to the ps3/360 are debunked. This is good news indeed. I cant wait to see the power of the wii u and what it can do.

Zero. Powerful laptop GPU's that consume low power are expensive because they are rare. Not all chips are created equally and the best ones end up as high end GPU's/ CPU's.

It's really old news. So it is confirmed now, nice. But can you trust the source this time?
Also, it has been posted for months now that the Wii U has a more powerful GPU but will lack CPU power and developers fear they can't improve AI and stuff.
Don't go all hype all the time. Unless you want to be disappointed in the end.
