Blastoise. Just check this dude out, he's a god damn tank merged with a tortoise!

He was also my starter the very first time I ever played Pokemon Red, so I guess I have a bit of a connection to him.

This guy is the reason I always choose the fire-type starter at least on my first playthrough of each gen. He's an awesome, fire-breathing dragon; and he's the only starter evolution in the history of Pokemon that can fly.

Man, i haven't played a pokemon game since i had the yellow version way back then. If i had to pick from the original ones, it would have to be SNORLAX.
