That's a triple confirmation there.https://twitter.com/IBMWatson
So... is there still going to be a discussion about this, or do we believe IBM is telling the truth here...?

Its possible the IBM twitter guy is just reading from a script and has no idea what he is saying.
Uh, no, its not. Look at who the two guys who.operate the twitter feed.
Chris Nay and
Michael Holmes.
Chris Nay is communication and research lead engineer at IBM.
ENGINEER.not PR mouthpeice. Holmes cant say anything.withoit nay saying its legit.
The feed also follows the IBM Social
Computing Guidelines, which means they cant falsify any.information, or allow misinformation, such as when soeone tweeted something they.thought Watson did, the official ibmwatson feed had to make a tweet.that that event was in fact done by blue gene, and wasnt something that Watson does.
No, it.is NOT pr BS.
They.KNOW what they are talking about.
'IBM Watson @ IBMWatson 08 Aug
@Mark_Hanson Mark - this is not
something that #IBMWatson does.'
And they are quick to correct misinformation.

Yeah but if it was a power 7 based CPU than it would be a strong coupled with its Apparently Great GPU and 1 gigs of ram for games that would make it clearly better than 360 which if going by peoples thoughts and Rumors that it will be equal with some parts weaker .Uh, no, its not. Fact:
The Wii U uses a custom Power7 CPU.
Fact:
The Wii U has 2 GB of RAM
Fact:
People have been hilariously inaccurate when predicted the Wii U performance and specs. "People's thoughts" are different than fact much of the time.
People simply expected the Wii U to be the Wii 2. It's not.
It's a powerful machine with the Power7 architecture at its heart. Nintendo isn't playing around here.

This thread is not going to be of any help, are always going to come people will say the PowerPC or the Broadway. As much as IBM officially say that the CPU is the Power7, this people will always think they know more about the Wii U CPU than IBM.
Just like I know more about syrup than Aunt Jemima. LOL
It is hilarious.
And Microsoft will still be standing by their "Wii U is only as powerful as 360" comment. They are so credible when evaluating the competition - you know, like when Steve Ballmer laughed the original iPhone off...
And we know how that went.

The power 7 most people who cant believe fhis are thinking about is IBM's high range package. It packs 8 p7 cores clocked at 4GHz and draws 200 Watts.
It is easily more powerful than the icore 7.
Wii.u is obviously NOT using that package, its using p7 cores in a custom package that shares 75 Watts with an entire console.
Even at half the clock.speed of the 360, the power 7 would smoke it. However, it would have trouble running ported 360 code, as 360 code is optimizEd for more cycles a second vs more instructions a cycle.
The tekken producer says its clocked slightly slower than PS360 (so a little below 3.2 GHz.) He also said they had to rearrange the ps360 code.
Its going to be a solid well built balanced machine.
Its not a powerhouse, but its comfortably.beyond 360 ps3.

How many more threads like this do we need?
We will stop needing threads like this when people stop questioning what the manufacturer of the Wii Us CPU tells them what's in the system.
The almost funny (but really sad) thing is, people are actually saying things like "well it can't be Power 7 because that's a really nice CPU."
What. the. heck.
just be glad it has a P7 and be done with it.
