I too am getting tired of the sidescrollers. I remember being absolutely floored when I saw Mario 64! Now, these side scrollers are just bland. I mean, they can be fun but they aren't what I am looking for. Mario Galaxy is more fun for me. I grew up with the NES, SNES, and N64....started slowing down with GC and the Wii. Hopefully the Wii U will pick things up a bit. I'm not a fan of survival horror games, but Zombi U looks cool and Tekken looks alright. I'm interested in Rayman Legends.
Exactly...I mean I understand that Sidescrolling is the Original Mario title...but come on, Mario 64 (3d world) was like just crazy

Mario's been everywhere except heaven and hell.
This is what the next game should focus on.

For me, I'll get NSMBU, Zombie U and possibly Black Ops 2 if it's 3D supported. Then I also will watch the price of Rayman Legends. A few months down the road I know for sure I'll pick up Monster Hunter and Bayonetta 2, and I'm sure I'm missing at least 1 title.

Haha I know. The Galaxy series was great, but now they have to move on. And I think they will.I'd have to go vandalize a building or something if I caught word of Super Mario Galaxy 3. I've had enough of that series.
Like seriously, I would find the nearest orphanage, and just spraypaint obscenities all over it just to get my point across.
Just look up the launch lineup of other consoles in history. You'll see that the Wii U has one of the best line ups ever. And most of the great games are not even Launch day titles..I.think this just prooves that Nintendo is rushing the Wii U out due to financial lost.
That's it. I'm exactly in the same situation. Only problem is: I have to get the Wii U before even thinking of the games. That's the problem when your parents were born before the 80's...I'm in the complete opposite situation. I'm overwhelmed by the launch titles I want to get, on top of the console itself, data storage and accessories.

Isn't ZombiU 3rd party and "brand new"? I get you don't like it but...Look at the gameplay demo it looks good slsnd the physics are soooo good! But I kinda agree with the launch titles though. Athey need more exciting brand new games. Black Ops 2 is the only 3rd party 3d title coming out at launch which is brand new. They also have many ports which is dissapointing. ZombiU is also a cool game. But I don't like it. They need more if they want to attract manly gamers.
Maybe Bayonetta.

http://nintendoeverything.com/84375/nintendo-has-812-8-billion-yen-in-the-bank/ Yeah, I doubt financial loss is the reason. Jus' sayin.
http://paulgalenetwork.com/home/2012/08/17/paul-gale-network-learns-that-nintendo-is-currently-in-development-of-a-3d-mario-game-for-wii-u-in-addition-to-new-super-mario-bros-u/ Seems that a 3D Mario game is probably in development.
Mario Kart could happen, but I don't see it for at least another year or two seeing how long Mario Kart 7's been out.
I've said it once, I'll say it again. Anybody asking for a new full-fledged Zelda title at launch or next year is absolutely insane. We just got Skyward Sword, and that took five years to get made/release.
I also find your statement about "Canceling NSMBU, ZombiU and Pikmin for Tekken, which is the only decent launch title to be, quite frankly, complete bull. I doubt NSMBU/ZombiU, or Pikmin are going to suck, and from your statement, I feel that you're willingly ignoring games like Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition, Mass Effect 3, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Rayman Legends, and even Assassin's Creed 3.
I'm not trying to attack/insult you or your opinion, but the thing I've derived from this thread was that you were expecting them to announce a 3D Mario/Zelda/F-Zero/whatever at launch, and got disappointed at the fact that they didn't.
I agree entirely.
NSMB is a very well established brand, and it's older than Mario Galaxy.
Also, 2D Mario predates 3D Mario by a great many years.
You're just acting spoiled in my opinion.
You're getting a unique game which has the potential to be great fun (Scribblenauts), the best selling Mario franchise (NSMB), a fantastic third party effort (ZombiU), possible fun game bundled with your console (NintendoLand), a quality exclusive platformer (Rayman), a blockbuster (Cod), good indie titles on the eshop (trine 2, tokitori, nano assault neo), and more good games coming after launch, like pikmin 3, bayonetta 2, etc.
Zeldo doesn't sell consoles alone, neither does 3d mario.
There's a great selection of games on launch, not counting the ports of year old games like batman and mass effect.
edit: I even forgot to mention Sonic kart, which pretty much copies mario kart and makes improvements, coming launch day too.
What?
Over here Tekken is under 30 euro. The other games you mentioned are over 50 euro each. How do I do math like you?
I agree with this too.
Zombi U and NSMBU is cool and all, but I think Nintendo is dropping the ball by not launching with more established games, such as Mario Galaxy or a 3d Mario game. Maybe even Mario Kart, Zelda or something.
I actually plan on cancelling all my pre ordered games "NSMBU, Zombi U, and Pikmin, and just putting it towards Tekken, in which I see to be maybe the only decent launch title.
I don't know whether to take you seriously or that you're actually trolling with this thread. I think the latter is far more likely.

I, personally, am tired of seeing Mario. Mario Kart 7, SM3DL, Paper Mario: SS, Mario Tennis, NSMB2, NSMBU, and LM:DD (including this) all were released within a 2-year timespan. This is madness u.u
Let Nintendo take a break. I don't want to see another Mario game for at least 2 years >_>
THIS I AGREE WITH!!!
I actually do feel that Nintendo flooded the market with just toooooo many games. I'm not sure what type of approach they should take, rather they should take the Halo approach and release every few years...the Mario Kart approach and release 1 every console generation.
But I do think that they did just flood the market to much, and probably just because they know Mario makes them easy money.
Which is why I believe that some people insisted for Nintendo to just create new IPS all together.

They aren't gonna give his fat ass a break!
But give GreatestGamer a break. He only gave an opinion so don't be so hard on him. My opinion isn't too different from his, but I do realize what Nintendo did with the lineup is for the best. I am personally shocked and impressed.

Thanks man, I was trying to explain that "HEY" some gamers despise the Wii U itself and some even just hate Nintendo as a whole, and the only thing I dislike is some of the launch titles.
You are right though, Nintendo obviously planned this smart so it gave consumers more 3rd party games options unlike Wii had.

Pokedex entry: Mewtwo: The butt pokemon. It is really sexy and any pokemon that sees it wants to have sex with it. It's power comes from it's butt.

Well, where can Nintendo go with Mario from here? Mario on Earth. Mario in space. What's next?
Lol, I do think a Mario 64 type of title is needed. Seriously, I never got tired of jumping into those paintings. But otherwise, Mario has been everywhere.
Maybe it's time to focus on a whole new Luigi type game, give Luigi his on 3d title starting him, not like Lugi's Mansion.
