I don't emulate games, because that is stealing.
On an unrelated note, I totally have never ever, ever, ever torrented anime either. Noep... neva...
I am assuming you are joking about the second part, so why are you so against pirating video games that aren't in production and the majority of which aren't on digital services? I'm sure you don't ACTUALLY give a crap what the companies actually get from you in return, if you ask me, Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft will do just fine without my purchase of a 25 year old game that isn't in production anymore and doesn't cost them a cent to put up for digital download.

If it was just the first one, that would be a serious post.

Hey, fun fact: Feldo and other members used to talk about what we pirated while his old Feldian Forums were up. At one time, he said he pirated a season of the Big Bang Theory.

Emulation makes me sick. I really can't stand emulating old games, I much prefer playing them on their original system.
Okay, I can understand that in a way, you're probably being nostalgic about the games, but there's no denying that if your computer is good enough you will receive a far superior experience to that which you would get on the actual console itself.

There are some games that are terrible to emulate on a keyboard though. For instance, fighting games, or games that use different walk speeds on a control stick.
I wirelessly connect my PS3 controller to do both of those things.

It's still piracy. I can emulate Wii and Gamecube games on my PC with superior graphics but it just makes me feel dirty. Yes I am exaggerating a bit there but I really can't enjoy a game as much if it is emulated/pirated, maybe I'm just a man of integrity that is able to acknowledge that theft is wrong regardless of it being digital or not.Okay, I can understand that in a way, you're probably being nostalgic about the games, but there's no denying that if your computer is good enough you will receive a far superior experience to that which you would get on the actual console itself.

Okay, but while you feel feel sorry for Nintendo and other developers, multi million dollar corporations, I'll be saving thousands of dollars and hours of my time. PURCHASING emulation off of the VC doesn't make you that much more moral than everyone else.

Well, maybe not everyone else, just the people who pirate.

I must say now I would never condone any such activity as it does not abide with the rules and guidelines of the forum
I could never live with myself if i pirated thousands upon thousands of songs and hundreds of games for N64, Sega Genesis and Gameboy...
For free.

Well, maybe not everyone else, just the people who pirate.
At the end of the day I'm not spending money on games that will not even be played, the majority of these people who collect retro video games are essentially hoarding, how many times have you heard someone say that they got a certain retro video game because it was cheap, even though they don't think it's that good? If purchasing old games for absurd prices when the company doesn't have to put anymore work into it makes you feel good about yourself, that's great, but realize that it is essentially moronic to do so most of the time. Nintendo isn't going to notice you pirating their old games.
I haven't even pirated a game in years, I'm just contemplating doing so for older titles as I don't want to be spending money left and right. Stop making piracy of outdated for the most part, out of production and old games to be the work of the devil.
