If you sign up to play EA games through a Nintendo Wii U console, your Nintendo account information will be provided to EA so that we can establish an Origin Account for you. You need an Origin Account to play EA’s titles online. By signing up to play EA’s titles, you agree that limited user account information can be transferred to EA. Information transferred to EA includes your Mii information, email address, Nintendo Network ID, friend list, country, language and date of birth but does not include credit card number or other financial account information.

That's pretty cool but I don't use Origin.

Hi, my name is Alph. I live on a planet named Koppai. I am famous for saving my planet from starvation. My best friends are Brittany and Captain Olimar, NOT Captain Charlie. I like surfing the KopNet and playing Kopetball.

that's a bit of a stretch. ID stands for Identification. Could easily be friendcodes.

I have an origin account, how will they handle existing accounts?

Friend codes meet my friend Louisville Slugger. I really hate EA... I find it bs we have to work through origin while playing on another console... they really must be desperate since origin can't even come close to competing with Steam

Yeah definately freind codes. Though, there was never inherently anything wrong with freind codes themselves, but the ui (or rather LACK of ui) that was provided for them.

They changed the handle from freind codes to nintendo network id, likely because the user interface for freind codes was so infuriatingly poor people are ready to smash things with baseball bats at the mere mention of freind codes.

That being said, by simply applying a user interface to 'freindcodes', and allowing a user to choose a user name, and attach that easy to remember name to the random string of impossible to remember numbers, and voila, 'freind codes' functions like any other non crap online account system.

So now I have to get Origin if I want to play Mass Effect 3 or Battlefield 4 online for the WiiU? I thought EA hated Nintendo after Origin was denied for the online network.
