I really hope someone that we can TRUST opens the Wii U in launch week to see what's inside. They are selling a 300/350 USD console at a loss, it must be powerful right?
we will see dont forget the gamepad that counts into the equation also. yeah im hpoing we get a wii u teardown by monday.

Well yeah, powerful for what it is.
The wii u is a fairly small system, that uses only 75 watts. Nintendo spent a lot of money and time developing a technology for such a small form factor, power draw, and managing the thermal envelope to go along with it.
This isnt going to be a jump like what weve been used to, though it will be more than gc to wii.
We are looking at 2-3x ps360. Many of the games already crush what ps360 can do, like wonderful 101 (this game has practically no textures on the backgrounds, all cracks crevices, bumps, and all other surface details are modeled by polygon.), or shinens nano assault (This game has a tiny file size because shinen uses the power of the wii u to procedurally generate near all assets, levels, models, textures, on the fly), but most people dont have the knowledge base to recognize this, and erroneously confuse production values with system power.... In which case metroid prime 4 will convince a lot of people the wii u is a lot more powerful than it is.

Yeah we'll see. There's bound to be someone in week 1 to examine everything.

14nm is the give away.
The specs are real I believe though. Nintendo's projected plans for the next Nintendo portable. The successor to the 3DS maybe? Makes alot more sense.
http://www-03.ibm.co...lease/33405.wss << IBM in colaboration with ARM for 14nm.
IBM IFL/Ziip CPUs @920Mhz/280 Mhz @ 14nm (2014/2015 at earliest) Possibly with ARM mix code in there.
6 cores and 12 threads.
DMP GPU @710 Mhz with 29.44 GT/s comparable to top cards out today with between 2-4 Tflops of performance. I suspect 2 Tflops will be the aim.
512 MB RAM @ 1 Ghz
1.4 GB of something. Main RAM?
Another note is 512-bit GPU. Right now AMD and NVIDIA are around 384-bit GPUs. So this is far up into 2015 at the earliest I would suspect.
That my friend is one hell of a portable console if true.

Somewhere in the world right now Kazuo Hirai is sitting on his laptop in a Star bucks just laughing his ass off while he sips on his pumpkin spice latte
Maybe. but it's a nervous little laugh...
