So people don't need to spend loads of money on a headset? Great news!

I have sold my Wii U, so if I deleted you from NN before I sold it, or haven't accepted your friend request since, this is why.

That's great news! I'll still get a headset though.

I wonder what the quality of the built in mic is like though.

Cool, this is good news, but how is the quality of the microphone?

As great as that might sound to some, it sounds more like a bad thing. He even said in the video the mic was, "going crazy". Built in mics are horrible, for example, when I start a party (or join one on my PS Vita), start playing a game with people all I hear is either "click, clack, click, bash" of buttons. If not that it is bloody background noise because there is no physical mute button, only a mute button inside of the Party application.

Yeah, now I can hear someone being screamed at & they can't mute their mics on a Nintendo product!!!!!

Billy!!!!!!! Billy are you listening to me!!!! Takes you Unicorn headphones off and listen to me Billy!!!!! *Three minutes later, I hear the lovely sounds of strangulation as little Billy is being killed. Ah, bliss*

Here's a quote from the guy 4 hours ago:

I made a mistake... I wish Nintendo would have just made this more clear. The wiiu supports headphones and earbuds with that have built in mics. But the audio doesn't come from the gamepad itself. I didn't realize that my earbuds and headphones had a built in mic. This is still good news because unlike what was reported it doesn't have to be a bulky expensive headset. It can be cheap earbuds that have built in mics. I have seen them on the net for less than 4 dollars.

So yeah, you can use cheap headphones with mics to play games.

Well, I bought my Xbox headset for 5 euros so that's still better.
No sig.
