It's not normal. I've had my PS3 and Xbox since launch and neither of them have ever had that problem.

My ps3 freezes all the time, what i meant by normal is that it wont do anything to ur system, it's not harmful

Actually it is harmful. It's not normal, and it is harmful.

Again, it IS harmful, and it is NOT normal.

I have sold my Wii U, so if I deleted you from NN before I sold it, or haven't accepted your friend request since, this is why.

I think it is the system itself, any one have a freezing problem in games that don't support nintendo network? Just wondering in case if it's just a miiverse thing.

All I meant is that it all can be fixed with updates it's not a hardware problem

I went to my friends house today and we played his Wii U and it froze a few times. The thing is, is that it only ever froze when we were playing multiplayer, online/ local. It made this weird noise so we just unplugged it and let it sit for about a minute and then continued playing. It wasn't in a cramped space either, there was room for the fan to do its thing and stuff. I hope this isn't going to be a big thing with the system

I've had 3 freezes. 2 on MiiVerse and 1 on NSMBU. I'm going to assume it's the MiiVerse, since my Mario is linked to it. It will get fixed soon and I believe it will ASAP. It hasn't been too big of an issue for me though.. not to the extent I've read about.. Nothing I haven't seen on XBOX anyway..

How is it harmful? I've had my 360, PS3, 3DS, Vita, Wii, and most recently my Wii U freeze on me. It may not happen to you, but it's common.

There is a difference between common happenings, and normal.

Kids drink underage here all the time, but that doesn't mean it's normal.

Freezing is both normal and harmful in this day and age. Of course there will always be those few people that don't have any trouble (some are lying, some are honest). I mean there can be so many causes of freezing, if you were getting ready to get an RROD with the old Xbox 360's. Freezing would start becoming more common before the RROD actually occured. 360/PS3 were not above freezing due to games (Fallout 3 anyone...I love that game but it freezes alot in comparison to others). PS3 even froze during the menu from time to time for me. Wii froze, it was less likely but it did. Also some units had weak lasers the discs would give disc read errors. Thats not technically freezing though. At this point, its a combination of all this rediculously powerful technology, giant games that make glitches so much more common. Also, an over reliance on updates/patches. Why make sure the game/system is bug free when you can just patch it to be bug free over time and rush it to release. I wish systems weren't as freeze happy and games weren't as bug filled, but it is common place now. If you don't like it, stop playing games. That's the only answer. PC is no better, lots of bugs in games, hence why every game is almost guarenteed at least one patch. Really not surprising, I mean more and more video game consoles are becoming like computers. Computer games have always been a little fragile even with a powerful PC. Required patches to make the game more stable. So if a console is alot like a PC now. Is it surprising that those consoles and games need patches/updates now too. It's just the way it is. This is modern day gaming.

Of all the things I enjoyed about having homebrew with the original wii, from emulators to play games Nintendo refused to put on vc, to quake, to original homebrew entertainment products, The thing I enjoyed the most was the ability to unbrick my system no matter how unstable Nintendos os was.

Though I expect it to be somewhat better this time around because Nintendo is hiring outside companies to design and mantain the wii u's os and miiverse.

Well luckily it hasn't happened a third time yet and I played about three hours of NSMBU yesterday. From my understanding this freezing thing is common... it happened to me on 3DS when playing OOT, the weird sound came and the screen became blue on both screens and a code was at the top right corner... luckily it hasn't happened again. I just hope nintendo fixes this freezing issue with Wii U.
