I have sold my Wii U, so if I deleted you from NN before I sold it, or haven't accepted your friend request since, this is why.

The best buy employees actually seemed upset (irate) about it being sold out, not sure what that was about.

So when I bought my Wii U the day before Thanksgiving my local walmart had 3 deluxe systems. Went back on black Friday to pick up some 360 and ps3 games on sale and the two systems that were left after I bought mine were still sitting there. Then tonight at the same walmart there were about 8-10 consoles mostly basics just sitting in the case.
Pics..... or i dont believe it

I think once there are more games for the Wii U to place on shelves the demand will go up.

I don't think this issues is the systems fault, I think it's marketing. I think to many people assume it's a add on for the wii or something. I was playing my ps vita at work one night and someone asked if it was the new Wii U?!? Seriously?!?!
I agree, I dont think it was marketed very well.

They shouldn't discontinue the Wii. Gamestop is actually eliminating PS2 games to free up space. So that's the next console to officially die.I think they also restocked much faster than the original wii. I had to go to gamestop every day for two weeks to catch a wii in stock, ended up getting one as it was pulled off the truck during a shipment delivery. Wii U took less time, the gamestop employee said they are being restocked very quickly, but that they go the same day. THey actually asked me to come in as soon as possible to pick it up so no one accidentally sells it to someone else. Many gamestop stores have yet to catch up with the launch as well. Most don't have the demo unit and many don't even have dedicated wallspace for it yet. The retail situation actually makes it look like it's just a gamepad add on for wii. Nintendo should be discontinuing the wii so these places can sell out of them so the Wii U has more prominent shelf space. In fact, they should have discontinued the Wii prior to Wii U launch to ratchet up a little more demand.
I think once there are more games for the Wii U to place on shelves the demand will go up.
