Not really. Some years we celebrate what my friend calls 'Jewish Christmas', where my family goes out to eat Chinese food and see a movie (I technically am Jewish through my mother). Not this year though.
We don't celebrate Christmas because it is too expensive and the money can go to a better use, like food, the bills, etc...
ps: at least you could ask for a present!! lol... Christmas is not expensive, except the good food and depends if you spend money outside the house in parties and in discos, or invite people in to have some good time. We personally spend money for groceries and making good food and spend our time inside with good friends.. its not that expensive.
As for me... I made my gifts to me, but I will recieve them in jenuary... Samsung ssd 840 pro 128 gigs, a brand new pc case (corsair c70 vengance) and a pair of shoes... I also participated in in a wii U competition... I may win it!!! lol wish me luck
A graphic tablet,
which tablet? Intuos?

No, the reason we don't celebrate Christmas has nothing to do with religion. I am Jewish through my mom, but I am an atheist; plus my dad comes from an irish catholic family. We don't celebrate Christmas because it is too expensive for us.Spoiler

Even atheists celebrate the birth of Santa here.
There would be no escape here.
I don't understand what an independent Ireland is though. We're a member of the EU and so is the United Kingdom(NI).
I got chocolates which I've been trying to wean myself off of, a gift card for groceries, a mug, t-shirt and not feeling the spirit right now so haven't opened what's left. Probably deodorant because I smell.
