WHY DO WE FEEL THE NEED TO CAPITALIZE EVERYTHING. ALL IT DOES IS MAKE PEOPLES EYES HURT.

Seriously, stop it. It's unappealing and makes the post quality so much lower.

On Topic: I do hope this is a placeholder price...I was hoping on paying $40 at the most.

For me I believe it's worth 60$, Wind Wakers better than most of the games out out on the market anyway even if it is just a remake.

I don't see a problem with spending $60 on WW. This is much more than just an HD port. They aren't just upgrading the textures, its more like a complete overhaul of the cel shaded graphics. They said they are updating more than that too. I believe it more than warrants for the price tag. Anything lower will be just a bonus.

$60 is pretty steep price for a remake, even for a really good one.

Well, there's one main problem I have with this.

If Sony can release Ratchet and Clank 1 through 3 for $30 or Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and Peace Walker for $40, I personally don't think it's right to charge a full $60 for just the one game. It shouldn't get a free pass simply because it's a Nintendo title.

An even better example is the God of War saga. You can get God of War 1 through 3 and the two PSP titles for $40.

I was expecting $60, (the MSRP), just like OoT3D... I still wouldn't count this as fact though.

You can't compare those. They are straight HD ports. They have HD textures, but remain the same game. Nintendo pretty much reworked the graphics for WW, they didn't just smooth out the edges. Plus they said they have more in store for us, which could mean added content among other things. I don't think its fair to compare, at least not until we see what will be the finished product. If we get a beautiful remake with added dungeons, other content and upgraded combat for instance..then I 100% think that warrants the price.

I expect 40 dollars. This is essentially the equivalent of the Halo Anniversary game (redone graphics and more gameplay features), and that was 40 dollars.

Since when has gamestop wrote anything on their websites but assumptions?

Also, why wouldn't it have a retail release? >.<

ocarina of time 3D and twilight princess on the wii had retail releases...

I really hope that's not true. This doesn't look like a true remake, it looks like they just edited the existing Wind Waker. You know, like Ocarina of Time 3D, which was just the original wiith new textures.

Even if Wind Waker was my favorite Zelda game (which it's not), I could not ever justify spending $60 for a remastered version of it.

If it was $20 to $30, or in a collection with Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword remastered, I might, but this price is waaayyy too steep for a remastered version.

I never played Wind Walker but the HD remake looks so good that I would happily pay even $60 to get my hands on it.

Theres no way ill pay this for a remake. I know the prices will be different where i am (UK) and i know people keep saying "its more than just an HD port", but I would really feel cheated if i paid the same amount as a completely new game.

This doesn't actually confirm a retail release right?

I wouldn't worry about the price, game stop always over estimates the price during preorders.
Anyway im pretty sure i will pick up this gem again for another go, from the screenshots i've seen it looks gorgeous. However the character models seem to have lost a little bit of their charm (not enough bright colours. I do urge everyone to play this game as it is a true masterpiece that despite it's age can still amaze you with its charming visuals, characters, storyline and music.
