wiiU was full of promise but it's just not sold enough for 3rd party devs to have exclusives on it. you can't blame ubi for making more money...
also the secrecy in wiiu release titles is absurd in my opinion. i emailed nintendo about other things...i'll copy it in here..
Hello, i'm hoping you can shed a little light on when Aliens is being released? all other console version have been giving a release date while the wii U date is up in the air..with no information other than - released Q1? ..so by the end of March? The trouble with this, like Black Ops2 suffered..is that most gamers have either a ps3/360/pc along with the wiiU. Most people will not wait, especially if we don't have a date to wait for? Black Ops online is very poor in terms of online gamers compared to ps3/360. I think if the wiiU had been released in time for the launch of that game, the WiiU would have sold alot more. why will people wait when they can go get it next month for the other consoles? it's a shame, the wiiU is a great console, offers new experiences..but gamers are hardly the most patient of people..your doing yourself out of sales by not giving specific dates.
This also applies to the DLC for black ops2 aswel...every other version has a date...next month. Treyarch give the wiiu gamers cryptic messages...they won't say 'yes' or 'no' to whether we are getting the DLC as was promised..£55 i paid for that game, by the time the DLC is announced...if ever, who will buy it 6months down the line? then they will think there is no point in supporting the wiiU with future games etc..as nobody is buying it.
sorry to rant, it's just frustrating.
thanks for your time.
Dave.

Ubisoft, we get it. You want everyone and their grandma to experience Rayman Legends. You don't understand what an " exclusive" means do you? An exclusive means EXCLUSIVE to that specific console. So a potential exclusive hit game, ONLY for Wii U. Gets delayed until much later into the year, AND ported to the rival consoles. And if you're going to have the balls to port a would be console exclusive, at least have the decency to make the game a timed exclusive. Rayman Legends was days away from release, and now it's delayed only to have it ported. Wii U version is probably finally finished, but apparently Ubisoft is treating gamers like preschoolers, letting everyone join in at the same time, or else one person will get upset. Ubisoft, stop, just stop.

Guys... let's stop blaming ubisoft... this is all my fault. Last night I wondered if rayman legends would somehow be delayed, I must have jinxed it.
...Forgive me ;-;
Strange thing is, earlier today while I'm out I think about Rayman Legends being delayed due to the lack of new info or trailers. Then bam, I come home and find out it's been delayed.

I am not getting the game at all. I would had gotten it at launch, then it was delayed to March, and I was like, "Meh, maybe". I get less excited for games when they are constantly pushed back to the point that when it is time for release, I am like, "I don't care anymore" or there is some other game. I was not even a huge fan of Rayman anyways...I just liked the gameplay they showed off and in the demo...that one stage with the drums and rock music.
But yeah, what a royal screw-over by Ubisoft. Promising this was going to be a Wii U exclusive...then delaying it for almost a year just not to make it one. Yes, it is business, but today business ethics just suck...more about money (way more) than customer satisfaction and loyalty.
I am not a fan of GTA, but the biggest hits come out in September-November.

I completely understand you but you have to understand one thing. This is not a decission taken by the development team, this comes from really really high up, so please don't pick on the game.
If you're pissed, imagine how we feel. Think on the situation, we've been making overtime with this game practically since May preparing E3, and then almost a demo per month (gamescon, Wii U presentation, shops, eShop, etc...) and at the same time trying to actually finish the game. We had a first delay because it was obvious we couldn't finish on time but we gave it all to be there on February. What face do you think we had when the week we had to close the game we're being told it's not going to be released? I couldn't believe it.
For practical matters, you'll have to wait for some months for the game to be released and will most likely serve for more content to be added and do it better. For us, this means we've spent 6 months barely seeing our wifes, kids, and friends for nothing because, after all, such a haste wasn't needed. Believe it, it was a hell to swallow these news.
Even then I'm firm in what I said back in the day, Rayman Legends is an excellent game and will still be, and the team that's making it doesn't deserve to have your back turned on them just because some men in ties one day took a wrong choice. This industry is really that rainbowty

Speaking for myself, I'm mostly upset that Ubisoft waited mere weeks before this game was going to release on Wii U to tell us it's been delayed for 7 months. I really don't care so much that it's no longer exclusive. I think Ubisoft needs to get this game out on Wii U and bring out the other versions in September. The fact we have to wait 7 months for ALL versions to release does suck.
I also wonder if people would've had a milder reaction to this news if the current state of affairs with Nintendo was completely different. With all the constant doom and gloom we keep hearing about Wii U and how it's already a failure, I believe this news, for most, was the straw that broke the camel's back. I think people are tired of all the negativity and this news just pushed most over the edge. I can understand the frustration. It's more common to hear about how Wii U is oh so wrong and a compete failure. It's like for one bit of positive news we hear about Wii U, the next day we hear four bits of negative news. I think today was just a bad day and most will move on and deal with it. Others, sadly, may not.
