I've actually heard a lot of bad things about Elgato cards. Mostly for streaming, though. If you only want to record, Elgato is probably fine.

That you were killing early game randoms spamming attack means nothing, because at that point in the game you don't actually have any options besides attacking, therefore random enemies can't require the player to do anything besides that. Once the game opens up more, the challenge ramps up accordingly.
