lol i definitely noticed this when i first saw that footage shortly after E3, but i think it's quite obvious he wasn't being literal and was just referring to the sliders using the more common term "analogue sticks" i dont think he was hinting or letting anything slip

Hardcore gamers tend to care less about graphics then casual gamers. While some specialize in a single genre, they typically have fairly diverse taste in games, frequently playing a wide variety of games from different genres. They'll often seek out obscure and older games, based on word of mouth or positive critical reception. Hardcore gamers put good gameplay above all else, and don't mind if a good game has poor (or even nonexistent) graphics, sound, characters and plot.

Sounds like a load of crap to me. Im sticking with the original "leaked" rumors that said the Wii U was 10-12 times stronger then the 360. 2X lets be honest thats not a next gen system. And Nintendo and everyone who actually works on the Wii U has said IT IS A TRUE NEXT GEN SYSTEM. So 2X stronger then the 360...I call BS.
