Is this what Wii U boxart will look like?
01 June 2012 - 09:12 AM
This is the image that Maximum Games is using for their upcoming Wii U title, Jett Tailfin. Could the Wii U boxart really be this similar to the Wii boxart? I doubt it, but we'll find out next week! Thanks to ChosenoneKnuckles for the heads up!

Diablo III For Wii U Leaked?
31 May 2012 - 09:11 PM
A NeoGAF member is claiming that he has information about a Wii U version of Diablo III from “someone who seems trustworthy.” The anonymous source claims that Blizzard, the company behind Diablo III, has a couple of games that are not yet publicly shared. The source is certain that at least one of the games is Diablo III for Wii U.
The source also claims that this year’s Blizzcon was cancelled so that the company can focus on the console versions of Diablo III. The game is currently on the PC and its director has shown interest in the past about whether he wants to develop a console version.

Havok talks engine use on Wii U, says you'll see things you won't see elsewhere
28 May 2012 - 07:13 PM
Bringing the technology to the Wii U:
Gargan noted that all Wii U developers worldwide will have access to the Havok technology, the same way they would access Nintendo software tools, and that they have many cross-platform developer customers who can now easily add Wii U as an SKU for their projects. (None were explicitly discussed, though Gargan mentioned that several unannounced projects are actively in development).
In regard to the dual screen setup of the Wii U, Gargan stated that "with things like dual screens… most of our products are taken by game developers and then integrated, so dual screen [support] is something they typically worry about, rather than us."
Special considerations for the engine on Wii U:
"The platform has its own unique features, and has its own challenges as well. When we come across any new particular platform, we optimize specifically for some of the advantages that those platforms offer over other platforms, and Wii U has specific advantages that no other platform has, and we optimize directly for those, right down at the level of accessing the hardware.
"I think we'll see things done on the Wii U that we won't see on another platforms… I think people will be genuinely excited with the range of titles they're going to see come out."
The demonstration as presented at GDC can be watched in the following video. The demo shown used CPU-processed physics (as opposed to GPU), which, Gargan said, would be the case when the engine runs on Wii U. Source:http://www.nintendow...interview/29477

RUMOR- Wii U will support two tablet controllers?
23 May 2012 - 03:15 PM
Coming from a NeoGaf user:
“So far we know for sure that can be simultaneously connected 4 Wii Remote Plus, or at least 2 WiiU controllers (but not learned if they can be linked together, ie 4 Wii Remote Plus and 2 WiiU controllers at the same time).”
“We played wireless, so yes, it had battery inside.”

New Rumors/facts and OS rumors from IdeaMan
18 May 2012 - 12:21 PM
GoNintendo has collected together a fine batch of rumours and facts that have been posted online recently regarding Wii U. Some of the information gathered is legitimate, while other bits could be seen as pure speculation. Hopefully the majority of our questions relating to the system will be answered by Nintendo during E3, or shortly after.
- (RUMOR) insider claims that Wii U name is unlikely to change
- (RUMOR) insider has seen something "green and white" relating to Wii U
- (FACT) Peter Moore quote: "Its online capabilities are really extensive, too, so we’ll be able to differentiate ourselves from the competition more easily with our sports lineup."
- (FACT)Sega Australia employee's linkedin profile: "Developing downloadable licensed & original IP for… Wii U"
- (FACT)"GameStop is already prepared to help launch the first of these new consoles -- Nintendo's Wii U. As it's poised to be the first new machine of the gate, the Wii U will mark the beginning of the new hardware cycle, and GameStop has already devised its launch strategy to take advantage of the eventual spike in hardware sales."
- (RUMOR) Nintendo's Wii U trademark issue in England most likely cleared up
- (RUMOR) "Seems indy studio Empty Clip Studios (Groovin' Blocks) and their RapidFire Engine (multiport) are on Wii U."
- (FACT)"From the profile of a TT Fusion (LEGO City) Art progammer: 'This is going to be the exclusive launch title for the brand new Wii-U and Wii-2!' … Also, 34 [artists] working on LEGO City"
New: Now there is a new rumor that pertains form the Wii U OS and it is from IdeaMan.
- Wii U OS has an element that is 'huge, surely never seen before on a normal home system'
- Nintendo reserved a certain amount of memory (at least 512MB to be clear) for the Wii U OS
- looks to be the biggest software layer seen on this kind of platform
- OS may to see some tweaks/cuts to free up more memory for devs.
Do you guy's think the "Green and White" thing is the new developer kit color? Also I just copied this from GoNintendo and I really don't get the "Wii 2" thing.
