#267322 Satoru Iwata: "I'm not going resign"

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 18 January 2014 - 05:44 PM

The problem is that most of these games are very japanese games and only sell to a niche market in the west (I know that none of my friends, nor myself, are interested in these sort of games) Nintendo needs to make some new, more modern ips that appeal to the western market. Games that will stand the test of time like Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong etc.

Either that or they should make some modern additions to the many franchises we haven't heard from in years.

Did you miss the point that he made?

#267319 Why Nintendo will be just fine (Short editorial)

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 18 January 2014 - 05:39 PM

I saw too many doom articles so here is the facts people.

The Wii U sold about 4 million units in 1 year and if it continues at this rate which is unlikely considering some of the games lined up in 5 more years it will sale this much....

  4 units per year.

X 5 more years

+ 4 from the last year

= 25 million which almost ties with the Gamecube and we know the Gamecube still kept Nintendo afloat although being sold a s a loss.

Now thats not considering the fact that the libraries appeal will grow with heavy hitters. The heavy hitters planned are....

-Zelda U

-SSB4

-Bayonetta

-Monolith's X

-Shin Megami X Fire Emblem

-Mario Kart 8

And not to mention any new IPs that get announced this year.

All these games will add to sales.

The main reason 3rd party devs skip Nintendo is that it's currently not profitable. Even Bethesda will confirm this.

How does it get profitable? Games. I think I'm repeating myself

Also please look at the 3DS sales. Nintendo is doing just fine. Don't believe maintream media like Kotaku,IGN, and Gamespot. Go to indie sites.

Discuss....

#267121 Why 2013 has been the worst year in gaming.

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 17 January 2014 - 02:13 PM

But we got several classic. I disagree.

Its been pretty bad for consoles for about the past 7 years.

I disagree. Many great games came out and many systems sold.

Sure Melee may have the best combat system but Smashboards acts like Brawl and 4 are pure garbage. I left the Smashboards for that sole purpose.

#265706 Intelligent Systems gets new building for Fire Emblem Success

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 09 January 2014 - 12:45 PM

(Note: this article is from a german site so please excuse any translation errors)

A few days ago appeared Photos of Nintendo's new research and development building in Kyoto on ( we reported ). It was one of many measures for the internal restructuring of the Nintendo corporation.

Now we can already tell you about another measure. It's about the studio Intelligent Systems, which since its founding in 1986, not only ranks as Fire Emblem , Advance Wars and Paper Mario has hervorgebrach, but also programmed Developer Tools for Nintendo's consoles. Currently, Intelligent Systems works, which currently includes about 130 employees, with Atlus to Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem as well as a previously unannounced other Wii U game.

So far, Intelligent Systems was housed in the Kyoto Research Institute, one of Nintendo's R & D building in Kyoto, which also includes the Departments Software Planning & Development (SPD) and the Mario Club. Now the very important for Nintendo studio, however, is moved into its own building, which was completed in October 2013. The new property is located near the new Nintendo's main building.

#265699 Next Level Games Are Now Nintendo Exclusive Devs

Even though Mach Rider was a dumb game I think if they took the concept and reimagined it they could have a badass IP. One can only dream.

#252952 Does IGN hate Nintendo?

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 24 October 2013 - 10:58 AM

Is the sky blue?

Is the grass green?

Do girls have good?

Or is this another thread where Saturn stealthily tries to get us to argue for days and then abruptly vanishes from the face of the earth for like another two weeks?

You are quite intelligent

#252350 Does IGN hate Nintendo?

Posted by Alex Wolfers on 20 October 2013 - 02:47 PM

Today IGN gave Sonic Lost World a low score of like a 5 or something. Considering how they give games like Halo, COD, and Battlefield insanely high reviews and games like Zombi U a low score, and games like the Wii U version of Rayman a lower score then other ports I have grown to suspect IGN's reviews are either biased or bought out, or the fact they simply hate most Nintendo games. Your thoughts?
