About Me
Well Hello there!!
For those of you who maybe be wondering just...who the hell are you?! Well, here I am to fill that void. Allow me to take you on a journey through the inner most workings of my brain. Who knows, maybe you'll learn something. Anything goes up there. In any case, let us not doddle. Here we go.
Firstly, Let's have a look at my gaming passions. After all, thats what we are all here for yes? Good. Well then, being the old man that I am..comparatively (I'm 28, almost 29) I have come to love many games of many genres and platforms. Naturally, the first real gaming experience I was introduced to was the NES. There are few times in life where something from the outside world can just...root itself and change your DNA forever. My gaming life had begun.
The biggest impact though was the 90's when gaming really took off. Ahhh the golden days..how I miss thee. I loved all systems back then from, but I went the SEGA route. My Sega Genesis was my baby and Sonic was my man. Seriously, those games were just fricken mind blowingly awesome......before they went down the rainbowter. I still adore Sonic, and always will. It just wont ever be the same as it was.
The N64 was pretty badass too. It brought so many cherished memories. With Mario 64, Ocarina of Time (Mind Blown), Goldeneye just to name a few.
It was also around this time that PC gaming became really big. The boom of the original shooters like Doom, Quake and Duke Nukem. As well as an onslaught of point-and-click adventure games. GOD I love those. I have played so many of them I lost count. The most memorable ones are the Myst series and a game called The Dig, which is a PHENOMINAL game. I wrote an article about it once. The story was actually written by none other than Steven Speilberg. It was going to be a movie, but because it would have been to expensive at the time, it was made into a game instead. It's on Steam now, which is awesome. Anyway, Im getting sidetracked.
Let's get to the brass tax here. After all, I am not here to bore anyone. In terms of genres, I tend to lean towards Adventure/RPG's. It's simple really, I just enjoy a good story at a very personal level. Not to say I don't enjoy playing with others now and again, it's just a preference. Most games like this are not Co-op. Which is a shame. I like shooters as well, but I go after a different type of shooter. Like Borderlands, Unreal Tournament or Half-Life. As apposed to the brown military based shooters. To me, they are just better games in general. Far more creativity and thought are put into them and it makes them that much more enjoyable and adds a lot more replayability.
Anyway, back to the topic of Adventure/RPG's. I think it's fair to say that I much prefer western RPG's. Much like Elder Scrolls, Fallout and Diablo. On the Adventure side of things, well..you need not look any further than Zelda. Diablo and Zelda are by far my favorite franchises. However, It is Diablo that has lached onto my gamers soul. My passion for this series is beyond most. The story, atmoshphere, characters and locales are so rich. It truly is one of the greatest gems of our time. (That is until D3 came along...sigh..).
So, to give you a taste of what my passion for this series is like, I have provided a picture or two for your viewing pleasure. I give you...My Diablo Collectables.
I have some clothes as well, But I haven't any photos of them right now. But these will do. As you can see, I BATHE in this series. I cherish it more than any other. Probably ever. That being said, there is the very close second favorite series. I of course am referring to Zelda.
Sadly I haven't much in the way of collectables as such. Don't know why, but you can be sure I will get more when the opportunaties arise. In the meantime, I do have this poster:
and there it is. Sitting very pretty on my wall. SOOO gaw-damned epic.
My favorite Zelda's would have to be Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker and Link's Awakening DX.
Now, as for what kind of person I am. You will find that I have a great sense of humor. I am a pretty laid back individual who is super friendly, understanding and thoughtful . I am most always calm and collected. I consider myself to be very well cultured and loves getting into deep interesting conversations (especially about gaming). I am for the most part kinda quiet. As you may notice, I don't do a WHOLE lot of talking in chat. Well, Im a very reserved person. I really only talk if I feel I have something worth contributing. Once you have my attention though, I become a lot more verbal.
Apart from gaming, my other hobby is art. More so Digital than anything else. Though I am well fauceted with multiple mediums. I do a lot of artwork with Photoshop. Some are abstract, some are what is considered as "Art Deco" (Google that if you don't know what that looks like, its very kewl). it's an art style from the 30's. I am a perfectionist. Which, for my artwork is a good thing. I work very hard at my art and I dont stop until there are no mistakes. Which also means I get burnt out easily one piece. So the times i am making artwork are few and far between, but when I do. They look good.
Here are 3 of my best pieces. Hope you Enjoy them.
This one is called Chateau Regal.
This one is called Transilience
This one is my first Fan Art piece referencing a TV show from the 90's that was not only revolutionary but has a big place in my heart.
I also love Anime and am a huge Movie Buff. I am not THAT savvy with Anime, however I can list off what I have come to like from what I've seen and can remember. Which are as follows:
Almost anything by Studio Ghibli (Favorites are Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle and Princess Mononoke)
Appleseed
Hellsing
Ninja Scroll
Last Exile
Ghost in the Shell
Akira
Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra (if those count)
I love Electronica Music. Especially French House and Electro Swing. Daft Punk are my Idols, but I listen to a VERY wide variety of this genre that I have gradually collected/discovered over the years. My favorites are, Jamiroquai, Crystal Method, Gotan Project, Parov Stelar, Professor Kliq, Justice, Plump DJ's and Goldfish. The rest is very...underground stuff that you would find in a rave. As I was very much in the Rave scene in my teen years.
I think that should about do it. Don't want to make this any longer than it already is. It's like a Novelette. I will leave with this, a simple list of my favorite games of al time. If you wish to get to know me more, by all means contact me. I'm here to make friends. See you when I see you.
Favorite Games:
Diablo 2

Heroes of Might and Magic 3
Sonic 2, 3 and S&K
Zelda: Wind Waker

I would hold off until you get a better PC. its now standard for gaming rigs to have a a quad core CPU and 8 gigs of DDR3 ram to run most games decently. I also agree that you should go with Nvidia. They have much better drivers which is really important. I don't know what your budget is, but I would say you should get something between a GTX660Ti (which is pre-overclocked) and GTX 680. Those are more than sufficient. The higher cards, like the 690 and the new Titan are $1,000. They are worth the money.....but unless you have that much cash to burn, you dont need it. The other cards I mentioned will run you between $400-$600.
Ram is super cheap now and a 3rd gen quad core cpu is about $300-$400. So take from that what you will. It also helps if you have a decent motherboard to for compatibility sakes and performance. They are not AS important but still needs to be considered for a proper rig. I would also suggest a Power Supply with 1000w. Corsair is the best make for that. For Ram, look for Patriot or Mushkin. Hope all this helps.

I have no reason to be worried about the Wii U. What we are experiencing right now is the calm before the storm. There are major AAA titles coming this year that will spike sales like mad. Nintendo and/or Wii U is in no danger whatsoever.
