WiiU 's AMD GPU supports Eyefinity

11 June 2011 - 04:12 AM

http://www.amd.com/u...2011june07.aspx

In this press release, AMD mentions the custom Radeon HD GPU made for the WiiU to have "...high-definition graphics support; rich multimedia acceleration and playback; and multiple display support."
The multiple display support hints at Eyefinity, which is a feature of 5XXX or newer Radeon HD cards.

Because the GPU Nintendo uses is a custom one, it may still be that they took a 4XXX Radeon HD card and modified it to use Eyefinity, but that's unlikely as the 5XXX series uses less power at a similar performance. And by the way, Eyefinity supports up to 6 screens AFAIK, so we can still hope for the WiiU to allow more than one/two new controllers at the same time...

Dolphin Screenshots

E3 is coming closer and I though you guys would like to see some good screenshots of Wii/GC games. I wanted to make some own screenshots at first, but I ran into some problems and now I've searched for and found some pics in the world wide web. Enjoy!

And BTW, if they're too big, I'll link the pics in the future. I was just too lazy 'cause linking takes more copy+paste. Also, these pics aren't HD.

Forum Fighters

01 June 2011 - 07:10 AM

Well, the other fighting game's totally broken. I decided to start a new thread and make some rules to make a real RPG.

Here are the basics:
  • Every fighter has a level
  • Every fighter starts at level 1
  • Every fighter has (99 + level) HP ( for example, 100 HP at level 1, 110 HP at level 11)
  • The damage a fighter deals another one is determined by the level difference
  • Standard damage is 5
  • If you attack someone with a lower level, you will deal 1 more  damage for every level. For someone with a higher level, you will deal 1  less per level
  • Max damage is 10, min damage is 1   (for example, a level 1  attacking a level 4 will deal (5 - 3) = 2 damage, and he will still deal  1 damage even to a level 100)
  • You level up by gaining enough experience
  • The experience you need to level up is your level (a level 50 needs 50 exp)
  • The experience you get is determined by the level of someone you defeat (a level 20 gives 20 exp)
Now I'll tell you how the game is played:
  • There are "battles" and "rounds"
  • A battle is a fight between fighters who wanted to participate in it; the only time to join it is in the first round
  • A round is a part of the battle. One round means every fighter makes a move. Everyone is allowed to attack once per round; a fighter may only be attacked twice a round
  • A round ends either when every fighter made a move or when exactly one day passed after the first action of a round
  • A fighter mustn't attack the same person twice in a row
And last but not least advanced rules:
  • Your level will be reset after every battle
  • Only the fighter who wins gets his level permanently increased by 1
  • For example, during a round, fighters can level up to level 100, but will drop to the level they started at once the battle is over. Only the winner will be able to carry one level up over to the next battles
That's currently all I can think of, but I'll adjust these rules in the futures. I'll also keep track of all fighters and their levels.
