Guilty Crown.
It's shorter than pretty much all the anime mentioned here but the plot and music and characters touch my little old heart. Even now numerous scenes drive me almost to tears. The ending is a highly disputed subject but personally, as someone who has written complex stories and scripts and had to wrap up many characters and plot points, I appreciate the ending very much.

I was going to choose Mario Kart but opted for a Mario Golf reboot, because in my mind Mario Kart is its own thing entirely, I never think of it as part of the sports lineup. Mario Golf U with Wii Motion Plus + Gamepad on the floor as a view of the golf ball would be sweet.
