#203302 Getting a bit fed up with UK prices Asda £149.99 Tesco £139.99

Posted by Gamejunkie on 03 May 2013 - 04:53 AM

I don't know why people are whining and complaining about the reduced prices. If you're an early adopter and you paid the original price then that is the price you pay for buying early ( no pun intended ). If the lower prices help to stimulate sales of the hardware then that can only be a good thing.

#199027 New Wii U Ads

Posted by Tre on 23 April 2013 - 06:07 PM

They are great ads for the target audience. Yes, upgrading is the correct word. You upgrade your computer. You upgrade your phone. You upgrade your Wii for a Wii U. Nintendo was smart with these ad. Families understand upgrade. They hear it in any electronics store that they enter.

Everyone is complaining about the Wii U... and I'm just sitting here enjoying my Wii U.

#190408 Wii U Bloom and Boom

Posted by NintendoReport on 05 April 2013 - 07:46 AM

Yes, that's right folks. The Wii U is blooming like a flower in Spring. It was a rough winter, cold, windy and the air felt dead. Now, with spring here, things are warming up and in a few months others will start feeling the heat!

Reasons I love my Wii U:

  • MiiVerse / Community
  • Off TV Gameplay & Gamepad Features
  • I realize it's more capable than even I originally thought hardware and software wise.
  • Selection of games improving and currently I am having trouble deciding what game to spend more time on! (Lego City, Monster Hunter to just name a couple!)
  • Connectivity/integration with 3DS (loving this with Monster Hunter!)
  • My wife likes to game with me, especially in Nintendoland!

What are the reasons you love your Wii U and what are you looking forward too?

In all honesty, i have played playstation most of all since probably ps1/ps2, nintendo before then, a little xbox in between. Im almost 30 and i have come to the point where sony and msoft are too much about graphics and competition and have lost touch with what it is to have fun playing a game. I bought my Wii U a couple weeks after launch and tbh, Nintendo still holds that charm of fun that the other guys have forgotten about. I think most people have lost touch with just having fun and are too caught up in fanboy wars, graphics wars, exclusive wars, blah blah blah.

The games will come, every system these days have a fairly weak launch in reality, unfinished/unpolished os's, delayed/late 1st party games. I agree Nintendo missed out of some 1st party titles for launch and missing some potential 3rd parties, but i think in time the games will be here, the system will be polished up, developers that stick it out and learn to develop quality titles and show what it can really do, things will play out fine.

Some claim they have patience but they really dont, and coming from someone who almost always is a day 1 console buyer thats been through this same repetitive stuff with ps360vita (Vita forums were exactly like this for the longest time), the problem of launch issues wont be going anywhere for any system, learn patience or wait to make your purchase.

#187758 Wii U won't be getting Unreal Engine 4

Posted by Robotic Sunshine Commander on 29 March 2013 - 11:35 AM

Nintendo will be just fine! My god people are ridiculous! Epic needs to get their thumb out of their arse and start developing for the U since it will have the biggest install base. UE4 isn't anything to brag about, its UE4 with some slightly better effects and made for more difficult hardware to work with . Wii U games will probably actually look better in some cases because of the fact that developers will pretty much just use their old engines and refine them for wii u .

WII U IS NEXT GEN PEOPLE STOP WHINING

the wii u is a bit cr_p, its going to be good for VC on the gamepad and zelda, sorry but thats it

LOL because one engine with no games working on it means Wii U has no third party games? u have to be kidding!?

Why did you make 2 threads of the exact same thing?

It was probably an accident.

#183633 how was the wiiu suppost to attract core gamers again ?

Posted by Nollog on 17 March 2013 - 10:40 AM

I doubt they ever had a plan to do any of that.

#175405 Exactly how large is the power gap between the Wii U and the PS4?

Posted by Arkhandar on 24 February 2013 - 08:01 AM

Not counting with the huge amount of fixed function logic present in the Wii U GPU, we're looking at a raw power of at least 325 GFLOPS.

The PS4 GPU has been confirmed to have a total of 1.84 TFLOPS of raw GPU power.

So, judging be the GPU alone we're looking at a relatively big difference, but it isn't by far, a "quantum leap" like Sony's advertising.

In a worst case scenario, the PS4 is 5x more powerful than the Wii U. This means that a PS4 game running in 1080p@60fps could equally run on a Wii U in 720p@30fps.

For comparison, the PS3 and Xbox360 were 20x more powerful than the original Wii, so we're definitely not looking at a last generation situation here.

Then again, none of this matters if there's no good games on either consoles. Because it all comes down to this, good games.

#174870 How do you think Nintendo could advertise better?

Posted by Lupaie on 23 February 2013 - 10:31 AM

Just communicatie what we have:

WiiU:
- Nintendo's next gen gaming system is right here right now with:
- Triple A Exclusives
- huge back cataloque with Virtual Console
- continue playing while TV is occupied
- eShop
- integrated social network designed for gaming
- unique experience with Gamepad
- crossplay with 3DS

And then create a video not showing people playing, but just showing some scenes of the top of the bill released and upcoming games

#171851 Nintendo already discussing new Consoles

I like the Wii U and I hope they won't change the controller for the next console. That second screen is a must now imo. :)

Your reply could have too.
Everything could do better....

#151071 Anyone agree Wii U has the best controllers ever?

Posted by ThatGuy on 23 December 2012 - 10:56 AM

#150635 Please tell me im wrong

Posted by MorbidGod on 21 December 2012 - 06:28 PM

They can be less powerful than tje wii u and devs will still find excuses.

They dont like competing with nintendo games.
