Nintendo has confirmed that Mario Kart 8 will arrive in May. The upcoming Wii U racing game’s launch month was revealed by company president Satoru Iwata during a corporate briefing today in Japan. Iwata also announced that Mario Kart Wii, which was released in 2008, has sold 35.26 million copies to date

The Wii U Virtual Console for EU will arrive tomorrow:
A library of quality classic games from NES and Super Nintendo are scheduled for theVirtual Console service on Wii U, with favourites such as Super Mario World, Excitebike, Mario’s Super Picross, F-Zero, Ice Climber, Donkey Kong Jr. and Punch-Out!! available at launch. Many other gaming classics such as Pac Man, Super Metroid and games from the Mega Man, Street Fighter and Super Mario Bros. series will be available soon, while popular Game Boy Advance and Nintendo 64 games will also be added in the future.
Each game in the Wii U Virtual Console library has been developed to include off-TV play on the Wii U GamePad, customisable controls, Miiverse community support and the ability to instantly save game progress. NES games will cost €4.99/£3.49 while Super NES games will cost €7.99/£5.49. People who have already downloaded these games to their Wii system can transfer them to their Wii U consoles and play them in Wii Mode at no charge. To upgrade and take advantage of the improved Wii U features, they can purchase them at the special discount price of €/£0.99 for NES games and €/£ 1.49 for Super NES games.

Man now that the Wii U update is here I am so stoked about tomorrow. A batch of Virtual Console games along with my copy of Fire Emblem: Awakening coming in tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be such a great day for me.

I know I sure am. Faster loading times for your Wii U? yes please, plus I can't wait for the Wii U VC to become available so I can buy and download Super Mario World.

Please please PLEASE have a GameCube VC Nintendo. You don't really how many people would jump for joy if you did something like that. On ther other hand though, can't wait to download and play Super Mario World again. haven't played that game in ages.

Haha yeah i just got my Wii U recently too and so far it's an awesome system. Even though the only game I have for it atm is Nintendo Land (fun game btw) I think that's it's a great piece of technology. I think the Wii U is better than the PS4 in terms of hardware. There's so much stuff you can do on the Wii U compared to the PS4. Though i bet the PS4 will be great too.

So, as the title says: What's your most anticipated Wii U title of 2013? Is there any games you plan tp pick up for your Wii U? For me, yeah there's a few games I want for my WIi U that I plan to purchase:
Wonderful 101
Pikmin 3 (this will be my first Pikmin game)
Mario Kart U
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD
3D Mario Wii U
These are my most anticipated WIi U games.
