#70468 Nintendo speaks out saying enjoy the games, don't focus on specs.

Posted by Lord Pickleton on 07 April 2012 - 09:54 PM

I'm trying to get IGN to report my rumor that the Wii U will launch with a built in coffee machine, mini fridge, and ice cream machine. Wouldn't be too difficult or will it?

#67379 Rumors about Retro's new game

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 22 March 2012 - 11:55 AM

NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  This is terrible, HORRIBLE!  What will we ever do?!?!?!?

Extremely over dramatic freaking out aside, this could have positive and negative implications for me.  On the positive side, it means that they are putting lots of effort into making this game great.  On the negative side, this means that they could be making an uninteresting game.  If I wanted an XBox/PS3 game, I would get a XBox/PS3.  I'm hoping that this game will still have that Nintendo feel.

........

It's by Retro. It will have the Nintendo feel, because Creativity flows through they're veins. As long as it's not a cut and paste FPS, it'll be fine.

#67218 Rumor: "Nintendo tweaked the Wii U to make sure it can run UE4."

Posted by Shokio on 21 March 2012 - 07:27 AM

Orion you have the wrong idea, completely.

Supporting multiple controllers only means that Nintendo had to BEEF UP the hardware, meaning, we have a stronger system now. So basically, for ANY game that doesn't support streaming to multiple controllers (i.e., single-player games), devs will have extra power to work with.

Also, the streaming to the controller pretty much only affects resolution. It's not like games will have lower-res textures. Notice how the rumor said nothing about how the controller affects lighting, textures, physics, etc. Yes it talked about how they look in-comparison of 360/PS3 but what they were actually talking about there were MULTIPLATS that are shared between those systems.

Lastly, 1080p isn't the huge of difference from 720p. I mean yes it's a lot more pixels but really, the visual difference is really minimal. I'd rather have 720p with 60 FPS than 1080p with 30 FPS.

#64100 Nintendo patent reveals 'environment sensor unit' for Wii U

Posted by Andy on 29 February 2012 - 04:02 AM

How about a New Super Mario Bros game, where the levels are effected by the weather. If it's sunny outside you have what looks like a canyon. When it's raining outside, it's a water level. Or, in a grass land type level, a beanstalk grows when it rains, which gives you access to a secret area. Or if there's a real damp cave-like area, when it's cold outside, it will be frozen.Or if there's a poll of lava with a cave entrance right at the surface off it, and you can't get to it without burning yourself, the lava will freeze giving you access to the cave. Or, to put it the other way around, there's a cave blocked by ice, and you can't enter it until it warms up.

#61240 Not-clickable sliders, an issue?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 12 February 2012 - 10:51 AM

I've said it once, but I feel it was overlooked, so I'll say it again: Nintendo is listening to Devs. EA or Activition have probably told them about this, so I'm pretty sure it's taken care of.

And even if neither of them have, someone should've by now.

Have to agree here. CoD fanatics can rant all they want about the necessity of clickable analog sticks, but what matters is how the devs get around this problem. If they can't find a decent way around it, they would probably be informing Nintendo to add such a function to the slide pads. Remember that CoD is likely in development for Wii U, so Treyarch would probably pressure Nintendo to add clicking if there isn't a workable alternative.

I read somewhere that the GC pad's Z button was added only at the devs' request, so it's not out of the question for some small modifications to happen to the Wii U tablet for the same reason.

#59685 Why it won't matter if Wii U is not as powerful as neXtBox and PS4.

Posted by Terrabyte20xx on 04 February 2012 - 07:09 PM

I don't think PS4 or NextBox will be that much more powerful, they don't have enough money to do something like last time. Besides, I believe that the Graphics race is over.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to the RAM race. Graphics are coming to a point that until we get past the Uncanny Valley, they won't be getting any better, so until that happens, it will be who can get more stuff happening on Screen with without a drop in quality. But the problem is that RAM is more expensive then GPUs and stuff, so Sony and Microsoft can't afford to try to take out the Wii U with that either.

In Conclusion, the Wii U is great, and will not be overshadowed by either of the new systems.

#59462 High Voltage now a registered Wii U developer

Posted by HaoSenVastForest on 03 February 2012 - 05:38 PM

I knew that they would eventually do this! And yeah I think that Conduit 3 would be great! I also hope that they fix all of em multiplayer bugs and they rehire the old voice actors.

#59369 New Wii U news: Wii U will have a individual account system, and more

Posted by InsaneLaw on 03 February 2012 - 02:24 AM

Origin won't actually be the Wii U's online system, EA might be helping out with the system, but Nintendo will probably run it on their own, why would they stick to one Company when they want all developers on board?

Infact, why am I even arguing this? We already know it'll be Nintendo Network.

#58089 The Wii U is 2x the power of the Xbox 720

Posted by InsaneLaw on 28 January 2012 - 04:02 AM

Tenkay, 6x 100 is 600...
(the next bit isn't aimed at anyone specific)

None of the rumours considering the power of the consoles can be considered true.

You can't compare the PC graphics cards because consoles DON'T USE THEM as I've said many, many times on different parts of the internet.

The first gen dev kit for the Wii U may have been using a R700 to get developers projects on their system, but after that it would've been the companies own modified chipset, and a more powerful one at that.

Plus, the original rumour that stated that the Wii U was using an R700 stated that it was using a Power 6 PC, which was already proven wrong by the time E3 came around, since the Wii U is using Power 7 architecture, which believe it or not makes quite a bit of difference. Plus those kits were underclocked themselves, so it won't be just 50% more powerful than the PS3 (which is what the first rumours said, not the 360).

And of the CPU, we don't know how many cores and what sort of set up the Wii U is using, so we won't ever be able to guess it's power until it comes out or if Nintendo release the tech specs.

We don't know anything about the Next-Gen consoles and all these rumours are just made up guess work produced to get more reads/views, the only thing we do know is that the Wii U is more powerful than the current generation, and probably by quite a bit more than the rumours would have you believe, considering the ones that said it were actual developers.

#57825 New Wii U news: Wii U will have a individual account system, and more

Posted by mootap on 27 January 2012 - 08:45 AM

The Wii U is finally starting to redeem itself from it's shoddy unveiling. Whether Nintendo have finally got with the times and then some will be revealed at the next E3. Bring it on.

I think it was done on purpose.By not showing the actual console or any details about specks or first psrty stuff,iT'S BUILDING UP TO be this perfect console

touch screen
Motion control
buttons
Hardcore games
casual games
nintendo ip's
online system

#57061 Xbox 720 to be 20% more powerful then the Wii U

Posted by Meelow100 on 24 January 2012 - 04:26 PM

You should all take into account that its a rumor and it might be more powerful

We don't 100% know if IGN is talking about 20% more powerful then the old dev kits or 20% more powerful then the final dev kits, so it's possible that either the Wii U is more powerful then the 720 or the 720 is 20% more powerful then the Wii U.

I just hope it's like the 6th gen (last gen). Where each console was very close in power, so the 20% makes me REALLY happy because both the Wii U and 720 will be = for multiplatform games.

#56343 Conduit 3 as a launch title

Posted by Sage on 22 January 2012 - 08:36 AM

If they can find a publisher that would be something nice to see, but Sega doesn't want to publish for High Voltage anymore at least not conduit. If Nintendo themselves decide to publish it or maybe another company then yeah.

#54539 Will Nintedo Grow Up!

Posted by Caius Casshern Sins on 15 January 2012 - 09:16 AM

I disagree with you, if Nint endo change there franchises that drastically will actually make there current fans sicken. I would rather see a brand new IPs than changing there current franchises to suit the wants of the hardcore.

#53980 PlayStation 4 will probably be alot stronger then the Wii U and Xbox 720

Posted by nintendo3DS on 13 January 2012 - 03:12 PM

Okay, so Wii U's graphics look like real-life. Sony suspects they can get a lot better than real-life? Not going to happen.

#53447 This is why Nintendo should have stayed home.

Posted by Crackkat on 11 January 2012 - 04:02 PM

dont see why you dont realise that this is bigger than your impatience!! nintendo cares more about success than impatience, it would be highly unwise to show microsoft and sony what the wii u can do while they're building their consoles as we speak!! its soo simple
