Nintendo will most likely handle it just like Sony and Microsoft. If the system registers as being tampered with or has an unauthorized device hooked up to it then as soon as you go online, your account will be blocked and unable to access the any online feature.

Obviously there is nothing Nintendo can do if you plan on keeping the Wii U offline, but I honestly don't see the Wii U being that big of a source of pirating compared to the 360 and PS3

Since you are only 12, you missed out on any good console Nintendo was involved with. SNES and N64 were the only good consoles this company ever made. If I was you, I'd try and find an original SNES (or even emulator online) and play some classics like Chrono Trigger and Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past.

If I was you, I'd be p!ssed off my parent's just bought me a brand new console that will be collecting dust in a few months. And if I assume correctly, probably won't buy you a 720 / PS4 knowing you just got a console a year ago.

Them the breaks kid... maybe write a letter to Nintendo and ask for a refund and threaten a class action law suit ;)
