#235334 New Zelda U Rumours

Posted by IvyT on 27 July 2013 - 01:54 PM

Wow did Nintendo get inside my head and found out all the stuff I wanted from a Zelda game?

Is this a dream??? I can't believe this, if this is true, this might be one of the best, if not the best, Zelda game ever.

#234827 Call of Duty Ghosts OFFICIALLY COMING TO WIIU!

I don't understand everyone's obsession with getting DLC though. I mean, for me, DLC are just a pain; most of those things could've been easily included in the game, most are seriously overprice and 4/5 DLC's add little to no content (the only DLC's I ever bothered getting were for Mass Effect, that actually added more to the story).

#233910 Best skin for wii u?

Posted by IvyT on 22 July 2013 - 08:18 AM

I just googled "Wii U skins", got lots of results... It's not that difficult.

But here, try these out, they seem to have some pretty cool designs, might try it out myself: here.

#233751 Forgotten Games I'd Like To See On Wii U

StarFox, fo'sure.

#233270 Hey Euros! Buy Pikmin 3 on the eshop and get 30% off on The Wonderful 101

Posted by IvyT on 19 July 2013 - 03:28 PM

If downloading a full retail game wasn't such a bother (really, waiting more than 10-15 hours for it is annoying) I'd probably consider this offer. Also, I like to have the opportunity to trade in the game if I don't like it or, if I do like it, displaying it proudly on my shelf. Aaaand also I don't really want to get dedicated external drives for the Wii U, so 25GB of free space is a bit small to fill my HDD with full retail games.

#233041 How to market Bayo 2 into a success.

The question is, why doesn't Nintendo's team of marketing professionals do not see this too.

#232683 The Wii U Difference

Posted by IvyT on 18 July 2013 - 12:26 AM

Wow just wow, I can't belive Nintendo UK did it, the rest of the website is still crap though, try having an account, hardly anything works as it's "under construction" which it has been for the last year or so now, the layout is horrible and the rewards catalogue is rubbish!

I have to agree, the rewards catalogue is rubbish. I don't know how the US catalogue is, but rn Nintendo of Europe needs to give me some actual "rewards".

Wow, that's actually a really cool page.

I hope they rethink their TV advertising to make it more like this. Imagine a series of different ads each with a "Wii U difference" and gameplay. Those would be ads worth viewing.

Also, I notice the website is very black, aiming towards older users I guess.

It'd be nice if you had multiple colour choices for the Wii U OS.

I think the "Wii U difference" ads would be a success but they'd need to push them really hard, across all countries, not just a few select ones. Hopefully someone from Nintendo realizes that.

#232535 What makes a hardcore gamer?

Posted by IvyT on 17 July 2013 - 04:51 PM

I hate the term "hardcore gameer", dunno why, I just do.

I agree....

It has a very toolish vegetagy tone to it...

Most of all I hate how people hide under the "hardcore gamer" label to make others feel less like gamers, or like they're not good enough gamers just because they're not "as hardcore as them"

#232329 Miiverse Policing Check ....

Posted by IvyT on 17 July 2013 - 04:14 AM

I was sick of all the nastyness and trash talking on the Xbox 360, safe to say that MiiVerse is a breath of fresh are for genuine gamers who just want to have a fun time :)

Same here. Not to mention the Miiverse allows a level of interaction other consoles' online services don't allow. I think the policies are good too because it makes for a much better environment for everyone, across all ages... It's not like Nintendo is trying to cut freedom of speech. It's just a shame most communities are becoming hogs for posts like "thanks for the x yeahs" "yeah this if". The Youtube community, especially, is a complete joke. You don't have to post every time you're going online or offline or if you're "gonna have lunch brb"

#232001 Ubisoft: "We won't even start" a game if it can't be a franchise

Posted by IvyT on 15 July 2013 - 11:39 PM

Well that is pretty weird. Looks like they don't want to make games that can't be milked with a sequel every year.

That's exactly what I think the industry is becoming: a bunch of greedy companies who won't mind shipping out pointless sequels to their games every year or so, and that greediness is one of the reasons why third-party support is so weak on the Wii U. They don't want to just profit, they want to profit BIG.

#231999 What makes a hardcore gamer?

Posted by IvyT on 15 July 2013 - 11:23 PM

Ohhhh noooo one of these topics.
I think hardcore is how a person plays a game. Let's use Mario Kart for example like I usually do.

Lots of people play Mario Kart casually and just play races to have a little fun by themselves or with friends in person or online. Casual is fine no one should knock it because it's just for fun and that's what games are for.

Now a hardcore Mario Kart player will learn all the tricks in gameplay mechanics, get 3 stars on all cups, beat all the staff ghosts and try and set good records. It is all about how the player plays the game that defines it in my eyes.

Both casual and hardcore are just fine and I do both for certain games. No one should be ridiculed for being a casual gamer or need to feel like the only way they will be considered a gamer is to be hardcore. We all do it to escape and have fun. It doesn't matter.

Hardcore gamer is someone who accepts video games as a hobby and doesn't discriminate between games, genres, consoles, or developers.

I think these two posts pretty much sum it up. Nevertheless I think labels are just about the dumbest thing people need in a society and they only serve to create conflicts and discriminate and rarely do any good. When people say "labels are a necessity in a society" I just have to cringe.

I can be a "casual gamer" and still play hardcore one or two games. Does that make me any less casual? Does that make me completely hardcore? I don't know, probably none of you do either, and that's the beauty of not having labels, we're just gamers regardless if we're playing 12 hours a day and going on competitions or if we just enjoy to sit down for a while whenever we have free time and have a little fun.

#231003 Thinking about selling my Wii U guys...

Posted by IvyT on 12 July 2013 - 05:04 AM

No man just keep the WiiU. When you sell it you and those games you really want start getting closer and closer to their release dates you will be itching to sell that Playstation for a WiiU. I don't sell my games anymore because when I was younger I used to sell a lot and noticed I always bought them again not too far in the future because I missed them. Just stick it out and wait for Smash and Mario Kart, you most likely will not be disappointed and it will feel great having your hands on the game after waiting so long. Plus remember we have Super Mario 3D World coming out in a few months and Pikmin out next month. Oh and Wind Waker. I am sure these games can hold you over and once you start getting new and great games it will cure that need to get another system quick. I know exactly how you feel I have been like that many times but after I just held onto everything I have it helps. I started making collections for my systems instead of selling to get new games I was dying for. And that is a real satisfying feeling. So just hold out dude, you won't regret it.

I've definitely regretted selling many games when I was younger, games that are really hard to find now. Just build a good collection, it's a really satisfying feeling. And yeah, the Wii U doesn't have a lot going for it now, but neither won't the PS4. If I recall well, the PS3 struggled a lot for the first 2/3 years between solving some hardware issues and getting a decent game lineup. The Wii U is definitely going through that phase now and to fool ourselves into thinking the PS4 and Xbox One are somehow 'superior' to those issues is just silly.

Yeah, the PS4 looks good now but I bet it'll look even better in a couple years with a hardware revision and a more robust game lineup. Meanwhile, you get to enjoy your Wii U and all the amazing Nintendo exclusives that are coming this year and in 2014.

#231000 Target Assassins Creed 3 - $19.99

Posted by IvyT on 12 July 2013 - 04:53 AM

I can't find it in every store but in my local GAME shop there's AC III for $25 and Darksiders for $20. But online you have better chances of finding these prices on a more regular basis, with even some special discounts, i.e. I found Sonic All Stars for $20.

#230752 Ratchet and Clank:Into the Nexus

Posted by IvyT on 11 July 2013 - 07:00 AM

I've been playing Ratchet & Clank since the first game on the PS2 but to be honest the PS3 releases have been crap and this one seems so unnecessary imo. It feels pretty bland, more of the same... instead I'd rather them wait a little longer for a PS4 version.
