Chocolate milk is not in my fridge. Tom must answer.

It's actually kinda pretty. Still don't like the idea. Hoping it's fake.
Also, in the first picture (of the new ones) you can quite clearly see that the touch screen ends towards the left side of the device, which did not happen in the other leak. Of course, it could be a strange reflection.
Also, this speculation is so ripe that this forum almost seems alive

Wii U dev kit.. just so we can see how it looked from final product.
and gamepad prototype
.
I lean towards fake on the NX controller leak. There has been some good discussion on other boards and some have created their own mockups. Some went as far saying what if it can display a 21:9 aspect ratio lol.
Here is a nice mock up... full screen shown in rectangular window with extra viewing extended outward due to the freeform display.
and of course we have this... lol

I wouldn't be surprised if that object actually exists IRL, not photoshopped, but I really doubt it's what the NX controller will look like. It's literally the patent... When has Nintendo ever made a product that looks exactly like the patent?
The final design might be similar, but I really doubt they'll drop physical buttons, and if they do, there will be a good replacement for them.

Eh, as long as it's not buggy I'm happy. I've watched the videos and I still don't see what the problem is. Yes, there are games that look nicer than it. But this is still a decent game. Complaining about it won't do much, except maybe reducing the launch price (I'll admit I won't pay 75 Canuckistan Pesos for this)

http://wiiudaily.com...plans-for-2016/
In the newspaper Mainichi Shimbun, Kimishima elaborated on his business plans for the company moving into 2016 and it’s bigger than what any of us expected. According to the article, Kimishima says he wants to surprise fans with new ideas instead of building on old ones. Details about the Nintendo NX will be revealed in 2016, but perhaps most interesting is Kimishima’s other plans.
Last year we learned that Nintendo and Universal Studios have partnered to build a theme park featuring Nintendo’s iconic cast of characters. In Kimishima’s statement, he says that the expansion and licensing for these endeavors is going well, but that he’s also looking into movies and TV anime for character licensing.
While this is traditionally a move away from the core gaming experiences that Nintendo is known for, Kimishima says that his company must experiment with new business models in order to be successful. He hopes to bring profits for the company to 100 billion yen, which is around $855 million. No time frame was given for that goal, but the amount of money is four times the profit from Nintendo’s financials last year.
Finally, Kimishima mentions Nintendo’s smartphone efforts and says they’re rolling along well, with the first app featuring Nintendo’s famous characters to be rolled out in March

I said it once, twice, thrice, etc and I'll say it again: Nintendo needs to focus on the lowest price they can pull off without compromising the experience. Games like Windwaker, Splatoon, etc prove that the Wii U as-is can push out really awesome graphics; and the older Wii proves that Nintendo can dominate by acting as a "secondary" console that people purchase alongside their Xbox or Playstation, or even as a entry console to the current generation.
but the wii wasn't successful as a "secondary" console, it was successful because they tapped into a new market, a market which has since moved to smartphones
making a console the same as xbox and ps4 is going to flop, they need something which will get those people (or non gamers again) to buy the console

Smartphone then? I don't like it. Gaming needs physical feedback buttons.
Reminds me of the fan mock ups for the "Revolution" controller in 2005.
This patent now makes sense... with the news back in January or so... of Nintendo using Sharp's free form displays.

Smarphone? Nope. I do not think so as the free form displays can be contoured around physical buttons. Basically covering the entire surface of the controller.
