#293991 Why are so many people disappointed with Obama's presidency?

Posted by SteventheSlayer on 22 July 2014 - 06:46 PM

I still don't know who you guys are talking about.

I mean, I know there's that one celebrity guy who's always taking selfies and pretending to be a president, but he isn't really, right?

I mean, he doesn't even know what presidents can and can't do.

#293683 Gentle Giant' Dies After NYPD Cop Puts Him In Chokehold

Saying that police in general are scum is just another sad stereotype. I know quite a few good policemen, but people like this give them a bad name. It's a shame really.

#293060 is it bad to not like your own country

Posted by SteventheSlayer on 12 July 2014 - 08:57 PM

Yeah but a lot of other countries have those privileges as well, and more, and they don't go around spouting all that best country in the world crap.

*Shrug* I don't see a problem with saying that. I see people in other countries saying theirs is the best all the time, and it doesn't bother me.

In fact, I don't see how it would bother anyone but those who are insecure about their own. After all, if you think your country x is better than y, seeing someone else saying y is best means nothing other than smiling and shacking your head pityingly.

Oh boy, Controversy Bingo!

Let's see:

Generalities, got it.

Stereotypes, ditto.

Bandwagon, got that too.

Blame game, I'm on a roll!

Composition, only need one more on that row.

Anecdotal, Bingo!

I guess I'm not cool because I like good ol' US. Sure, the government sucks right now, mostly due to a bad president, but that's nothing new. We have so many privileges that quite a few countries could only dream of, so I doubt I'll be leaving permanently anytime soon.

You shouldn't scare people like that. Some people have very weak hearts.

Nothing bad happened here. He had the right to say his opinion, and they had the right to fire him.

#281429 Woman suing Subway after seeing "Big Mama" written on top of her pizz...

Posted by SteventheSlayer on 15 April 2014 - 09:32 AM

Pshh, that's a pathetic attempt at humor.I would have handled it completely differently.

As I handed her the food, I would have said, "Hi, sorry about your wait."

Not really, it's rather ironic that this would happen in a Subway.

#277091 Apparently this is a racist KFC commercial.

Posted by SteventheSlayer on 13 March 2014 - 12:52 PM

I made an interesting thought discovery while reading this.

If you have a tvshow/commercial/whatever where a white guy guns down a black guy, for whatever reason, people will complain.

Now, if you have another scene, exactly the same, but with the colors reversed, nothing would happen.

It's interesting to think about.

One time I heard a story that I love to use for subjects like this.

There's a cathedral somewhere that's quite the tourist attraction. On the front are two doors: "Racist" and "Not Racist." Tourists would, of course, go to the not racist door, only to find that, surprise, it's locked, and they would have to go through the racist door.

Food for thought.

I like the fact that, not only are you a talented artist, but you also find ways to fit some humor into the drawings.

#275737 My songs

Posted by SteventheSlayer on 04 March 2014 - 06:19 PM

I was inspired, or perhaps reminded, by MatrixChicken that posting music was a thing. Unfortunately, all I have atm is the 'rough drafts' so to speak, as I only have cheap notation software right now.

For the most part, these are things I improv-ed on the piano and decided to jot down.

So anyway, I'll only post a couple of the ones that don't sound too terrible, and hopefully I can write the rest up properly later on.

It's in dropbox/midi form as it's the easiest for me atm.
