#9659 Wii U competition sooner then expected?

Posted by WeeYou on 20 June 2011 - 04:51 PM in Wii U Hardware

Ya, me too...

We seem to agree on a lot of things! lol

Yeah, if a few dollars a month are what it takes to provide a quality online service than count me in, again (I've been happy with xbox live, worth the money).

#7162 Wii U Camera Ideas Thread

Posted by WeeYou on 15 June 2011 - 02:03 PM in Wii U Hardware

In general I think that the camera could be used to seamlessly integrate video chat into many multiplayer games. Imagine having an entire lobby of people able to video chat in between rounds of COD or a similar shooter. On second thought, that could get super confusing and even annoying. Although it could be worth a shot.

There's no free version of TapTalk??

#8947 What is your favorite book?

Posted by WeeYou on 18 June 2011 - 07:05 PM in The Café

when I was a kid my favorite books were goosebumps books! ^^

I loved the goosebumps books! I had tons of them. Currently I'm reading "The Yiddish Policemen's Union" which is being made into a movie by the Coen brothers. Really excited for that.

#9253 What is your favorite book?

Posted by WeeYou on 19 June 2011 - 12:58 PM in The Café

One series of books I really like is the Inheritance Cycle. I'd forgotten about them until today, when I saw that the fourth one finally has a release date: 8 November 2011. I'll have to re-read the first three before then, to refresh my memory. It's about time this book was published; the last one was in 2008. I'm hoping it'll be worth the wait though.

Ah! I was just thinking about that series the other day! I'll have to go find the first 3 as well. There on a book shelve somewhere...

#9906 What graphics processor will the Wii U have?

Posted by WeeYou on 21 June 2011 - 03:49 PM in Wii U Hardware

Although I have a limited understanding of all this technical stuff, I hope nintendo puts in the best graphics processor they can while still making a profit like they like to.

#7502 what do think of the look of the console?

Posted by WeeYou on 16 June 2011 - 06:39 AM in Wii U Hardware

Although the overall design is pretty sleek, I do wish they had done more to make it look different than the wii. That would just be a basic step to show off how the console is NEW.

#7519 what do think of the look of the console?

Posted by WeeYou on 16 June 2011 - 07:20 AM in Wii U Hardware

I was thinking just for marketing reasons it would be good for it to look different than the wii. Although maybe they're hoping with the similar name and appearance to be a big hit with the casual market again.

#9545 Weird Gaming Habit?

Posted by WeeYou on 20 June 2011 - 09:00 AM in General Gaming

I had a friend who if you said to him "the ending of the book doesn't make sense unless you've read the whole thing," than he would read the last chapter first.  :D

#7499 Warioware Wii U

Posted by WeeYou on 16 June 2011 - 06:35 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Concerning the 3DS, the lack of certain control options would mean that version would likely be a condensed version of the Wii U game. With that in mind, maybe a design app should be introduced in 3DSWare/DSiWare. Think like a notepad. Games could be uploaded to a central database that could be accessed in the Wii U game. Games made on the 3DS could also be played on other 3DS units.

I love the idea of being able to create games on the 3DS to be brought over to the wiiU. That would be a really cool way to get the wiiU/3DS connection going. But I think if they made a WarioWare for the 3DS it would be its own unique game. Both the DS and the Wii got their own WarioWares. And the 3DS would offer a different enough experience that I think it warrants getting a unique WarioWare.

#7752 Warioware Wii U

Posted by WeeYou on 16 June 2011 - 12:45 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I never understood this franchise, it just seemed like a game with a collection of weird mini-games. What is really appealing about it?

It's not just weird mini-games (although they are very strange). It's fast paced and fun. You'd be surprised how satisfying a 5 second mini game can be, and some of them are even outright fun despite their simplicity. I first fell in love with WarioWare when my friend let me borrow WarioWare Touched (I still haven't given it back almost 5 years later :D )

I'd recommend picking up a copy, renting, or borrowing from a friend. The games aren't for everyone, but for some people like myself, they're strangely addicting.

And do be sure to let me know if you pick up a WW copy and let me know what you think!

#7325 Warioware Wii U

Posted by WeeYou on 15 June 2011 - 07:30 PM in Wii U Games and Software

So I was thinking about how WarioWare Smooth Moves for the wii created a bunch of fun new minigames that made use of the wiimote's unique capabilities.  And keep in mind, all of the multiplayer action could be done using 1 wiimote.  So think of the new minigame possibilities that could arise from using the new wiiU controller.  I think a WarioWare for the wiiU could have tons of cool minigames, plus everybody in the room could get to use the new controller because you would just pass it around.

What are your thoughts?  Any ideas for minigames that wold use the new controller?  Or would you even rather they made a WarioWare for the 3DS instead?  Or do you just hate WarioWare??  <_<

And BTW, you can select both 3DS and WiiU in the poll.

#7337 Warioware Wii U

Posted by WeeYou on 15 June 2011 - 07:59 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I've played Touched and Smooth Moves. The WarioWare games have always been unique just like the systems they're made for. Hence why the wiiU and/or 3DS would be a perfect fit.

#7343 Warioware Wii U

Posted by WeeYou on 15 June 2011 - 08:14 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I love Wario Ware, and it would be prefect for the Wii U. <_<

I know right? A perfect match. I was surprised nobody had made a thread about this yet...

#7510 The Wii U needs 3rd party exclusives...badly

Posted by WeeYou on 16 June 2011 - 07:04 AM in Wii U Games and Software

As for a third-party exclusive of an FPS, Nintendo has the Conduit remember? <_<

The Conduit? I appreciate High Voltage trying to make a decent shooter for the wii, but that's not going to cut it for the wiiU. As much as I'd like to see High Voltage create a conduit for the wiiU that could actually compete with a Halo or Resistance or something...

Hopefully they will have one or two more before the console launches. People have been speculating on the possibility of Time Splitters 4 as exclusive.

TS4, now that's what I'm talking about! They have put out a teaser trailer on youtube a while back, but no news since then. Time Splitters games are always a lot of fun, and it would be an exclusive game that would make me proud to own the WiiU.

#9790 The mysterious HDMI port...

Posted by WeeYou on 21 June 2011 - 08:04 AM in Wii U Hardware

It doesn't really make sense.  HDMI ports on devices like phones are used to transfer the screen on the phone to the tv or vice versa.  Seeing as how the controller already does this wirelessly, who knows what it's for.

#9088 the most disappointing game

Posted by WeeYou on 19 June 2011 - 07:49 AM in General Gaming

Animal Crossing: City Folk.  All the reviews said it was basically the same game I had been playing for hundreds of hours, but I bought it anyways.  :P

#7122 Super Smash Bros. 4 Discussion Thread

Posted by WeeYou on 15 June 2011 - 12:42 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I could see any where from 35 to even 50 characters.  I'd really like to see them up the customization of matches.  For example:
. being able to change how much damage individual weapons do
. setting it up so everybody starts with some item/weapon
. more alternate colors and costumes
. be able to make minute or large changes to gravity, movement speed, etc.
. more unique game modes besides the normal time, stock, coin, etc.

That's all I can think of for right now.  I'm sure all of us have a million new ideas for game play and characters as we nintendo faithful always do when a new smash is on the way.

#9303 StarFox Assault 2 Could It Happen?

Posted by WeeYou on 19 June 2011 - 04:14 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Man, I'm just glad there's some fan interest in the series... tbh, I didn't play assault or adventures. the one in my mind is 64, and I just like the series in general.

I must have played through Starfox64 almost 100 times. I suffered through 1 playthrough of adventures. The one for the DS wasn't half bad though.

#9657 StarFox Assault 2 Could It Happen?

Posted by WeeYou on 20 June 2011 - 04:44 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I had heard that Assault was more "starfox-like". Adventures sure wasn't. They just threw fox into an action game with dinosaurs and called it Starfox.

#9905 StarFox Assault 2 Could It Happen?

Posted by WeeYou on 21 June 2011 - 03:47 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I also think (a la multiplayer from 64) that on-foot missions could work... there is no real reason that they couldn't. It all depends on presentation, and something unique and compelling about that aspect of the game. There should be a kind of fun that you can have on foot that is totally unique to that mode of play - a control or gameplay dynamic that makes those missions more than just a break of pace.

Yeah, even though it's not classic starfox, I am in now way in opposition to adding on foot missions to a star fox game as long as they are executed as well as flying in the arwing.

#9532 StarFox Assault 2 Could It Happen?

Posted by WeeYou on 20 June 2011 - 08:43 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Did you play Assault?

No, from the sound of it, it also suffered from lackluster on foot missions though.

#9792 StarFox Assault 2 Could It Happen?

Posted by WeeYou on 21 June 2011 - 08:07 AM in Wii U Games and Software

Star Fox does seem like a game that would benefit from the Wii U's HD graphics, so I'd say there's a good chance it'll make its way onto the new console.

I sure hope so. Flying through space in HD would be pretty sweet.

#8928 StarFox Assault 2 Could It Happen?

Posted by WeeYou on 18 June 2011 - 06:07 PM in Wii U Games and Software

Yeah, star fox 64 was the last great console star fox game, and it was entirely vehicle based. I could do without on foot missions. A return to the arwing is what the series needs to give it a shot in the arm.

#7758 SSB4 Final Smash IDEA just for fun

Posted by WeeYou on 16 June 2011 - 01:01 PM in Wii U Games and Software

KIRBY (my favorite character)

Final Smash 1: Bringing back the cooking pot final smash from brawl. This time with more interesting drops that come out of the pot.

Final Smash 2: Kirby sucks up any character in front of him. They take damage in his mouth until together they either struggle their way out OR Kirby can swallow all the characters outright. By swallowing, he gains multiple powers that combine and interact to form new bigger and better combo-powers. Perhaps Kirby could even be bigger for a short time after swallowing.

Final Smash 3: Multiple kirbys of all different colors and costumes come down from the sky on warp stars for 5 to 10 seconds. 10% of the time a giant kirby comes down the center of the screen on a giant warp star.

There you have it. Hope you like it.
