#315833 Rumour - NX will NOT be competing in power with PS4

For God's sake we don't even know if it'll be a home console or not...

#315599 7th Dragon III: Code VFD (Sega) announced for 3DS

Posted by magiciandude on 30 June 2015 - 06:34 AM in General Gaming

If I'm not mistaken, the first one came out for the DS while the sequel came out for Vita. So 7th Dragon IV will be out for Sony's next handheld system? :P

#315515 Positive reaction by 3rd parties to NX

Posted by magiciandude on 28 June 2015 - 11:48 AM in General Gaming

Yep, things looked very good back then. More adult rated games at launch, some of the ports being best on Wii U and constant 3rd party support was looking good.

Nintendo must realise their systems should be targeted towards an older market now. 90's and early 00's was different, gamers were mostly kids and i still don't think Nintendo have adapted to modern ways.

Humans are adults more of their life than kids right, so that should be your target audience for the most part. Get 3rd parties back, do your own thing and have a slice of the pie Sony and MS have been eating for over a decade now.

Most of the major 3rd party games that came out for the Wii U was released at full price months after they already came out on other systems and was missing content such as DLC and online. Remember when ME3 for the Wii U was released on the same week that ME Trilogy came out for other systems? Then they start ****ing at Wii U owners even though they were the ones who released half-assed content at full price. Now of course, the low Wii U install base didn't help either.

#315461 It's a hard knock life for us Wii U owners.

I love my Wii U, but sometimes Nintendo really irritates me.

#315361 Project Cars Dev "We Really Dislike Nintendo Users"

"Hey guys! If you give us more money, we'll make you a Wii U version!"

*few months later and no Wii U version*

"OMG! Nintendo fanboys are the worst! Stop being so mean!"

#315207 Yoshi's Wooly World reviews - GameSpot give 6/10

Posted by magiciandude on 22 June 2015 - 04:51 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I haven't cared about GameSpot in years since I left that site and this review doesn't change that so... (shrugs)

Nintendolife gave it a 9 out of ten....

It's actually a pretty good site. They're not afraid to criticize Nintendo games when it's warranted. For reference, they gave Yoshi's New Island a 5 out of 10.

Make Skull Kid a playable character already!

#315083 ZOMBI - Ubisoft

I guess you  could say that *puts on sunglasses* Ubisoft is bringing the series back from the dead

#315063 Skylanders SuperCharged Bowser/Donkey Kong Concept Art

Posted by magiciandude on 19 June 2015 - 05:20 PM in Wii U Games and Software

I think it's pretty great that Nintendo allowed Activision to use their property to boost the 3DS and Wii U sales. I just wish they had done this earlier because I'm worried that Skylanders might fall out of popularity real soon. I hope Nintendo works with Disney next for Disney Infinite. Imagine having Mario crossing with not just Disney characters but also Marvel and Star Wars.

#315013 What do you want to see in the NX?

Posted by magiciandude on 19 June 2015 - 07:13 AM in General Gaming

-Great games (as mentioned several times)

-No region lock (also mentioned)

-A vastly improved online network

-3rd party support (doesn't even have to be from Western developers)

-A superior VC content

-Easy to port games to

-Cut down the number of Amiibo supported games

That's all I ask for

#314918 Looks like fans weren't the only ones angry at the Digital Event

Posted by magiciandude on 18 June 2015 - 09:01 AM in E3 2015

Serves them right. Nintendo are now only interested in cash ins and easy money, no passion for games anymore.

Long live Sony!

Your avatar is really fitting for this thread. lol

#314911 Iwata acknowledges the reaction of Ninty's Digital Event

Posted by magiciandude on 18 June 2015 - 08:43 AM in E3 2015

So here's Reggie damage controlling the entire event and denying that Iwata was apologizing for the whole disaster. Just your typical PR bs.

Posted by magiciandude on 18 June 2015 - 08:19 AM in E3 2015

After getting their stocks from their mobile games announcement high, they dun goofed with their E3 performance and are now paying the price. Literally.

Suffice to say, I don't feel the least bit sad about this, they deserved it.

I think we should call it the Nintendo Café.

Just change all forum categories to reflect the new product. :)

I am sure Mourn will add a few sentences. hehe

Sounds good to me

Yep. Even if we're not the most active forum on the planet, I'd still rather much be here than most other gaming sites.

#314815 Next proper Metroid Prime not likely until Nintendo's next console

Posted by magiciandude on 17 June 2015 - 10:39 AM in E3 2015

I posted an article earlier that Next Level briefly did but the time/costs of developing led them to doing the Federation Force for 3DS. In early planning stages they discussed the Wii U platform..

Seems Nintendo's own dev studios don't even want to develop for the Wii U. LMAO

Disappointed-Face.gif

That's quite depressing.

#314813 Next proper Metroid Prime not likely until Nintendo's next console

Posted by magiciandude on 17 June 2015 - 10:33 AM in E3 2015

It irks me to know that they never considered a Metroid game for the Wii U.

#314812 Where do we go from here?

Posted by magiciandude on 17 June 2015 - 10:31 AM in Site News and Feedback

I don't know if this is the appropriate place to put it, but there's something that's on my mind. So it seems more and more likely that Nintendo's next platform will be a new console and got me thinking "What happens to this forum then?" If I'm not mistaken, this site was created back before the Wii U was known by its codename "Project Cafe". So what happens when the console is unveiled and eventually released? Do we change the name of the site or must we depart and find a new place?

#314795 Who would buy a Wii U now?

Posted by magiciandude on 17 June 2015 - 07:47 AM in Wii U Hardware

You know, this would have been the perfect opportunity for Nintendo to announce a price cut on the Wii U.

#314778 Iwata acknowledges the reaction of Ninty's Digital Event

Posted by magiciandude on 17 June 2015 - 03:31 AM in E3 2015

It was a letdown but not bad showed some good games. If you want bad Nintendo 2008. There was NO redeeming thing from that.

Like I said in another thread, Nintendo's lackluster event this year was comparable to their boring E3 presentation in 2003 where many of the games shown were already announced before E3, a very disappointing reveal (Pac-Man Vs.), and pushing an unnecessary gimmick (GC-GBA link).

#314719 Grade each conference

Posted by magiciandude on 16 June 2015 - 03:03 PM in E3 2015

Microsoft: A-

Tons of great games shown. Halo 5 looks beautiful. They finally gave creative freedom back to Rare and better late then never! The Sea of Thieves showing looks enticing. Also, the Rare Replay is one of the better deals in gaming I have ever seen! 30 critically acclaimed games from 4-30 years ago, for $30? Also, backwards compatibility announced? That really did me in.  The presentation was boring itself to watch, but man did they bring some surprises. Also, that minecraft hololens showing was insane!

Bethesda: B-

Bethesda had an alright first showing, DOOM looked gorgeous but looked pretty bland combat wise, and the guts and gore are a little too much for me.Dishonered, Hell yeah. Their arena combat game that I have already forgotten the name of looked atrocious, and the saver of the day was certainly Fallout 4, which I will put money on being the best game ever made, and it is releasing right before my birthday.

Sony- B+

Sony brought big guns, but they were underwhelming to me. Shenmue being fanfunded makes me quite sketched out. FF7 remake looks cool but its just that, a remake.  And then there was The Last Guardian, which I had forgotten about since about mid 2010, and wished it had stayed that way. The gameplay looked boring, the character design and environment looks no different then 6 years ago, and the worst part, it isn't even coming to next year.  No Man's Sky looks impressive, but also seems to have absolutely nothing to do in that massive universe but explore cookie cutter planets that change the color of the leaves.  They pretend like what they are doing has never been done before, but I've played the atrocity that was spore and this is clearly a modern take on that game in many ways. However, despite this seemingly negative rant, I was quite impressed with the thing as a whole. Also, Horizon might be the game that forces me into buying a PS4.

Nintendo: F

By far the worst E3 I have ever seen (haven't been at it that long, started in 2010). Starfox looks like it should be on GAMECUBE, and the gyro controls and emphasis on second screen play looks awful. Zelda...... Well if they took the developers that are making this game and had them work on Zelda U I could probably have it by the end of the year, instead of this uninspired second coming of four swords that even takes a backstep and only includes three links. The puppet thing made me uncomfortable, and the constant developer interviews ruined the pacing and felt like filler trying to make up for the little and unsubstantial content they had.  Especially the yarn yoshi lady, i wanted to hit her she was so awful.  Instead of  a true animal crossing we are getting a wierd take on mario party that requires amiibos, so to truly enjoy what little is to be enjoyed you have to pay probably and extra 60 bucks to have four players. I thought this was a Nintendo direct not an EA conference. The only saving grace was mario maker, but by the time they talked about it I was so annoyed and frustrated that I didn't even care how awesome it was, Nintendo had already crapped their pants and even an entire container of febreeze couldn't rid my house of the smell. I have been a die hard Nintendo fan since my toddler days of sitting on my father's lap and watching him play Mario64 and Banjo-Kazooie, but as hard as it is it might be time to keep the fond memories but change my course because I do not like this "transformation" one bit..... Sorry for the rant.

Man, at least you didn't witness Nintendo's E3 2008 like I did, because it was that bad...
