Well I, personally, love it. I've been playing it for a few weeks now (yes, I take that long to play video games. got a problem with that?), and I love the aesthetic and even the controls, which so many seem to hate. Perhaps it's just because my Wii Remote Plus is newer and thus is more accurate? I don't know. :P But yes, the game is quite fun, but I got stuck in quite a few places, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it keeps you playing for longer. :3

Well I, personally, love it. I've been playing it for a few weeks now (yes, I take that long to play video games. got a problem with that?)


I do the same thing. It took me weeks to get through Twilight Princess and I think this will take me even longer, if the reviews are to be believed.

I'm loving the game so far, it took a while to get going, but it's really picking up now. I love the flying aspect of it, also the upgrades are cool, although I don't have any resources for the upgrades I actually want. Really enjoying it, can't wait to get out of work and play. Also the combat actual requires you to think, unlike any other Zelda, although I still love basically every Zelda game.

While not being my favorite Zelda game, it was definitely my GOTY for 2011. Even Skyrim couldn't top it in the G4 Game Battle! :P

And no, my favorite Zelda game isn't Ocarina of Time.

In short Skyward Sword is sexy
-Motion controls almost as good as Red Steel 2
-Good Story (didn't like it as much as TP's though)
-The art style is very good
-Flying Birds is fun (best Zelda vehicle IMO)
-Game is fairly linear, but not as bad as many say
-I'd also recommend Last Story and Xenoblade

It's a really great game in a lot of ways, but the annoying things with it are really annoying, and would have been easy to fix. Which makes them more annoying. (I'm talking about all the time being told where to go and what to do, and then go there and do that, plus Fi:s habit of spoiling every puzzle without you asking for it, plus being able to get hearts in "Hero mode", plus a few more things. Hope they learn until next time!)

Are Last Story and Xenoblade similar to Zelda? I'm referring to combat and controls mostly.

I don't know why SS is so looked down upon. Whilst playing Twilight Princess, it was well bleh. Besides riding Epona, that was fun.
Skyward Swords controls were smooth, they featured motion controls perfectly, unline "Waggle you Wiimote" and the graphics were amazing most of the time. I wish it was HD.
Story was fun and engaging, played more like "play, play, play" and not line "Meh I can take a break." atleast to me.
Though the sky world was empty, and replaying areas. Only two 'mehs' but otherwise it's one of the best Zelda games along with Wind Waker and AttlP/Minish Cap.

I honestly think with the Motion Plus its the best Zelda game ever, it has cinematic moments and a beautiful art style.

I played the game 10 hours a day for two weeks after I got it. But it could just be that I was so exited to play it! I would totally buy it!

Lol I can't play that long, maybe 2 hours a day. This one's going to take me a few weeks. I wish I could play that long, Sunday is usually the only day I play a lot.

It's turned out to be much longer than I expected, which is a good thing! It seemed, at first, that it was going to be a really short game, but I was wrong. :D

When you do get it.. Do yourself a favor and explore the whole game, there's a lot of sidequests and upgrading all your items will basically push you to "hunt" the items you need.

I did all this and still wasn't bored with the game, jumped straight into Hero mode (sort of like Master Quest) the moment I finished the game the first time.

Really, sidequests get overlooked a lot unless there's a huge emphasis on them like in Skyrim.. but they're so much fun in Skyward Sword.

Super awesome skyward sword gmv with instrumental music from two steps from hell. ONLY FOR PEOPLE WHO BEAT THE GAME!!! It is spoilerrific.

Thats been my biggest problem with the series since oot. (alleviated in mm cause of all the sidestuff to do).

TP was by far the worst, a giant world, with absolutely nothing in it, that you are forced to do in a specific order.

Skyward sword was smaller, but more focused with much better pacing, and a story that was so full of zelda/triforce lore epicness and awesome events, excellent dungeons and bosses, and fantastic motion controls, that the fact zelda hasnt been adventure exploration in years just didnt bother me with ss.

Skyward swords linearity is blatantly the obvious result of a team to small to give a classic (pre oot) open zelda experience with the production values ss was shooting for, combined with the wiis hardware restraints.

Zelda u's team is huge thanks to nintendos expansions, and the wii u does not suffer wiis shackles.

This next one... Its going to be something else...
