I actually enjoyed TP a lot, but I do agree with what you said as far as empty worlds and hand holding goes.Thats been my biggest problem with the series since oot. (alleviated in mm cause of all the sidestuff to do).
TP was by far the worst, a giant world, with absolutely nothing in it, that you are forced to do in a specific order.
Skyward sword was smaller, but more focused with much better pacing, and a story that was so full of zelda/triforce lore epicness and awesome events, excellent dungeons and bosses, and fantastic motion controls, that the fact zelda hasnt been adventure exploration in years just didnt bother me with ss.
Skyward swords linearity is blatantly the obvious result of a team to small to give a classic (pre oot) open zelda experience with the production values ss was shooting for, combined with the wiis hardware restraints.
Zelda u's team is huge thanks to nintendos expansions, and the wii u does not suffer wiis shackles.
This next one... Its going to be something else...
How is Skyward Sword?

It took me 2 years for Twilight Princess. Get on my level.I do the same thing. It took me weeks to get through Twilight Princess and I think this will take me even longer, if the reviews are to be believed.
