Nintendo Direct Discussion Thread

We didn't get a Direct here in the UK/EU the stream was useless, also the UK/EU get 40mins & the USA gets 90mins Direct ? why the hate ?


there is no UK/EU YouTube stream !

I wasn't particularly excited but I thought there might have been something new. Overall it was snooze fest which mostly featured 3ds games we already knew about. Seriously, why is the Europe part of the presentation always so focused on 3DS? 

 

Can't believe I have nothing to play besides DK in march, april, and may. Especially now that Watch Dogs is delayed/soon to be cancelled.

i give up for now... waiting for " The Order " ...  I wanted something like that for wii U, a new announcement, make me forget " The Order "...

X is amazing but we've seen it so many times!  Its 2014!

I quited playing handhelds long ago, not boethering with mobiles either... But If i had 3ds, I was about to be hyped... They showed many for it.

Have you played Xenoblade? It's the same thing and it was fantastic in that game.

It's just that the Monster Hunter and Demons Souls series combat system have made a lot of other combat systems very boring to me. At least it will have mechs to entertain me.

Overall, the direct was a "Meh" for me.

Also, Sorcerer12 must be a sorcerer.  The only way he could've called FPS Steel Diver was through black magic.

Those Donkey Kong Country and Mario Kart trailers put you to sleep? Oh lord… It's like you're trying to limit what interested you, to make it seem like the Direct didn't show much…

Weren't you guys getting excited based off the fact Smash/ X/ Bayo 2 would get shown? Now people are moving the goal post and saying the Direct sucked because they didn't show Yarn Yoshi. 

 

Perhaps people have gotten so spoiled with these Direct presentations, Nintendo keeps raising the bar each one and they're expecting more? 

Nope, the only thing that would get me excited about wii u would be a new game teaser/announcement or an announcement of something coming in spring.

We got more footage of Mariokart 8. It looks Amazing!! Neat tracks, and plenty of retro tracks confirmed as well.

We got a new character announcement in Little Mac for Smash.

X gameplay!!! FOR CRYING OUT LOUD PEOPLE YOU ALL WANTED THIS FOR SO LONG AND NOW YOU ARE ALL JUST SAYING MEH?! WHY?? IT WAS AMAZING AND EXACTLY WHAT WE EXPECTED AT THE SAME TIME!!

Bayonetta 2 story (Which was the first trailer to honestly turn my head for that game as it started to explain the story)

Donkey Kong even looks really good.

We got tons of indie support and such thrown in as well.

If you all payed attention to the pacing of these directs you would know that Nintendo saves all of the big Wii U stuff for the end.

We got a lot of the games that appeal to the younger audience for the 3DS that will keep that market growing over the next half a year.

Monster Hunter even got announced for the west.

NES Remix was so much fun, so the NR2 announcement was a happy surprise. Hopefully there will be some discount if you already own the first one. On the other hand, it's kind of cheap so who cares? And nice to see something more from Bayonetta 2, looking forward to that one. Apart from that, I don't know. Well, I never got to finish Metroid Fusion, and I don't have it anymore, so that's also welcome.

Keep in mind that this Direct is intended to announce content for a huge variety of people. While people like us are the most dedicated watchers, There are tons of announcements Nintendo feels they need to make to get the word out for these lesser titles.

Basically what I'm saying is that this direct isn't just for you or me or any one particular group of people. It's about Nintendo releasing information about everything they are working on when they are ready to talk about it.

Considering there were 4 games in ONE Direct that was merely a monthly direct that sparked an interest for you I'd say Nintendo did a good job, even if the Direct as a whole had a lot of other "meh" stuff for you.
