Seriously, why update the game that isn't affected by time instead of the game that is outdated?

True. WWHD Is still a really enjoyable remake. WW is possibly one of the best games (as in, top 5/10) ever made so I still enjoy the hell out if it, and in HD. But the original is still amazing too.

@Pickleton thanks. I did end up taking Chespin as my starter.
I thought I read in a review that all of the Pokemon in your team are now supposed to receive XP after each battle even if they weren't brought out. That doesn't seem to be happening for me. Did I just misunderstand something?
