Really all about the power? Who cares. It's the games that make the huge point. It doesn't matter how fast, or beautiful your game looks, those only remain a certain quality. Its about how you play the game and the puzzles within that, that keep you thinking. Power and Graphical Capability is only a plus.

Yeah I can agree with you now. I hope Nintendo will give their games they'll show at E3 some serious attention though, graphically. I know they shouldn't need to be put behind the PS4 a lot, but they need to put a lot of effort in it I think. Graphically, Pikmin 3 looks pretty bland (even though the fruits, enemies, ,Pikmin and some plants look amazing, but the textures are pretty boring), but that's only a Wii game ported to the Wii U in fact (given its years of development). On the Wii, Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart looked amazing for its hardware and its time of release, so I can't wait to see how the next Wii U installments will look like. Should be mindblowing.

That makes sense. Still they could improve things like the horrible water edges, and add some more effects and stuff, but it's only a beta.

Completely agree with you.  Pikmin looks great, stunning even in some shots, then meh in others, I hope the gameplay makes the environment a little more interesting.  I can't wait to see what Nintendo can do with this thing once they have a handle on what to do with it.  The next 3d Mario is going to be BOSS.

That's the idea behind Nintendo's hardware design ethos.  Provide power and tools for consistent graphics performance so that developers can focus more on gameplay.  That's why they use so much dedicated silicon and fixed function hardware for certain effects.  The difference this time is that they have all of that AND fully programmable shaders, which should be interesting to say the least.

ps4 and xbox 720 €70- €80 in europe thats too much for a game to buy with rescission still going on, ireland still in rescission noone can afford games at that prices and when new skylander games they over €100 for starter packs for ps4 and xbox 720, ireland people are getting lower wages every year, while stores prices are increaseing every year, if stores going up prices we should get more but we're not ireland people arenot paid enough money to afford life and games.

That's just a rumour and those prices have not been confirmed. Besides Sony has already stated PS4 games will cost between 99 cents and $60 in the US. So it stands to reason EU/UK prices will be on par with today's games too. I suspect Microsoft will have a similar pricing model. The WIi U's games are priced at the same level as 360 and PS3 games and there is no reason to think the other new consoles will be any different. Its already been mentioned in the past that the cost of games development for the new generation of consoles will be no different then current consoles.

Yeah the lies will continue to dispurse as more and more people buy the WIIU... its just that we Nintendo players are actually using our console, not trolling other people's crap. Sony and MS both have their own issues lol. Sony just wants to survive, and MS couldnt care less, ready to subsidize their xbox brand, while Nintendo holds true to their roots... Still the Luck Of Heaven. Still number 1. Still innovating while others take notes, and slightly upgrade their graphics, and imitate Nintendo's innovations lol. Nothing has changed since Nintendo first arrived...

Absolute rubbish. There are loads of fantastic third party games many of which are just as good if not better then first party games. No comsole can survive without quality third party games. If you think otherwise then you must be smoking something you shouldn't be.

Really, if you think about it, the only thing Sony ever did that was unique was the PS Eye camera back on the PS2. It was Kinect before Kinect was lame.

I meant EyeToy. Kinect sucked for EVERY type of game, since there was at least a second of lag with almost every game made for it (Child of Eden being the only exception that comes to mind), let alone the problems that come with only having your body as an input device.

I disagree. Kinect isn't as bad as you make it out to be. It works pretty well with the main problem being needing enough space to actually use it. I actually have a third party attachment on mine which actually improves that by a big margin. I've never had issues with lag.

Agreed on all counts.  Kinect is actually pretty sweet.  There's no reason to knock a good thing just for the sake of defending your preference.

I actually love the concept of the Kinect, but I do think that perhaps MS put too many of their eggs in the Kinect basket.  They could have been putting their resources to better use by funding exclusives.

What are you talking about?  Only games published by Nintendo are first party games on Nintendo consoles.  Darksiders was published by THQ, making it a third party game, like any other game published by any publisher other than Nintendo.

 

Only 1st party games on Sony platforms are published by SCE, only 1st party games on Microsoft platforms are published by Microsoft Game Studios.

It was never a first party game, you may have seen it as a launch title, but it was never first party.

I don't think you understand the concept of first and third party games. Third party games cannot be first party games and first party games cannot be third party games. First party games are those that are developed in house and published by the console manufacturers. Third party games are those developed and published by other companies. Second party games are those developed externally but published by the console manufacturers.

But what if you bought a 100 games for PS3 and SUDDENly , they announce that there is no backwards compatability! To play old game you wloud need to buy or keep old systems or rebuy them in the PSN, but not every game will be remade in the PSN!

the reason is not the specs, but the sales.. Wii U will be around 7-10million, while the others will be around 3-4 millions....   So companies will not be able to decline wii U because of nintendo or whatever... they will bet on more game sales. And if the fanbase proves to be supporting to the 3rd party games... this will keep up.

 

Thats my opinion... also all 3 consoles, will look and feel the same in our game.

backward compatibility is necessary what if ps 3 user so many ps3 games i couldnt sell all my games in the stores and 2 yrs later down the road and games stores wont accept them for tradein purproses anymore like they stopped   accepting Ps2 games nowadays

Exactly, just because developers say they are not making Wii U games now that doesn't mean they won't come crawling back as Wii U sales go up.

Then keep your old systems. People seem to think backward compatibility is an entitlement wen its not. Its a bonus and they get all bent out of shape when its not included with a new console release.
