Of course Metroid is kiddie. Hellooo... BABY METROID!!!

LOL

No seriously, Metroid and Zelda both are games for older people.  but kids love them.

Actually, I remember the SNES and renting Super Metroid.  Only my mom made me take it back because she thought the music and the monsters were too scary.

How can anyone possibly even ask this question with a straight face?

Basically, look at Halo 4.  Is that Kiddie? Most would say not.

But it is a rip off of the Metroid series all the way down to formulas and character design (not including the Bungied developed Halo games).

Metroid is a pretty hardcore game actually. Just happens to be that all ages enjoy it. And Nintendo will toe the line to avoid certain ESRB ratings, though PEGI has rated Metroid: Other M 16+, like Crysis 3 and Halo 4, which is rated M by ESRB.

It doesn't apply to any Nintendo games.  "Kiddie" only refers to what kids call games that aren't rated mature, or what adults who haven't progressed emotionally enough to not have to prove their maturity through video games refer to them as.

Real kiddie games can be found on the leapster as well as on other platforms like ios android, PC, etc.  The sole purpose of those games is to teach a child something.  Math, spelling, writing.  We all remember those games when we were in gradeschool I'm sure.

E for Everyone games are not kiddie, it just means there aren't any themes that require parental discretion before allowing children to play them.  They still take a certain amount of focus, determination, and time to complete, so wouldn't be appropriate for most children under the age of 5.  E games can be played by kids, but that doesn't preclude an adult finding those games enjoyable.  Think of kiddie as a marketing term used by publishers specifically to make kids want them, because its something they aren't supposed to play.  Similar to watching R rated films or seeing explicit material on late night tv.

That's because Mature rated games attract kids more than anything.  Mario attracts more adults because Nintendo plays to the nostalgia factor more than anything.

The "People" you are talking about are the 10 year old haters that think that playing mature games makes them cooler... They're the people whom opinion doesn't matter...

Someone doesn't know the difference between pegi and esrb.

Nintendo knows how to get certain ratings with Serb. And it's interesting that in spite of an S
Esrb "t," Pegu rates it the same as halo 4.

And teen isn't "kiddie"
