Does anyone actually use the video chat on the wii u? 

i have used it last night and worked like a charm but do you use it often?

I don't video chat with any random person, I need to know them first, But yes it works good for me, I only notice problems with people out of my country.

Only with friends I know in real life, unless I get to know the person.

I've used it with gaymer and his sister a few times.

I used it twice, but besides that i never use it at all, if i could use the mic while am playing the game then i would use it a lot more, but you literally have to go off your game just to use it, then start up the game again and its just so annoying.

I've videochatted with a couple of girls before I met on Miiverse.

I've used it with Nollog and my partner several times. Worked well. Was fun drawing on each other.

I've never used it, I hate it when random miiverse friends that I don't know call me though.

I used it once with my good friend Dragon, it was really cool to speak with someone over the Atlantic lol hardly any lag either, that's the only time I've used it though.
