Melee and Brawl all both great names. Now they do this? lol. Well as long as the game is good I don't care that much.

I like this simple approach.
In fact, simple is better. Calling both Super Smash Bros. is the way to go. Some of the extra names were getting ridiculous.

Simple approach is whats needed. People will know that these are for the Wii-U and 3DS right off the bat.

Why did everyone want the name Universe? That would imply that it would either be an MMO or a crossover with a ton of 3rd part characters.
I actually agree. Universe does sound like it'd be this massive game with a bunch of characters 3rd party or not. I was never a fan of that name. And 3Dimension just sounds silly. It would've worked if this was the 3rd game in the franchise, but it's not. As someone has already pointed out in this thread, I would've loved if they called them Super Smash Bros (fighting term) U, and Super Smash Bros (fighting term) 3D. Oh well, it's just a name, so it doesn't matter as long as the game is good.

I don't really care. I'm so used to calling it Smash Bros Wii U and Smash Bros 3DS at this point I wouldn't want it any other way

This happened a loonnng time ago... after people saw this, they assumed it would be called universe when IMO that should have been the name of their 3D mario game.

I would have liked a better name, but hey, it can change name. Xenoblade Chronicles was called "Monado: Beginning of the World", so it's never too late. You might think I'm weird, but I like the artstyle for the titles, so I could actually care less.
