Shigeru Miyamoto, the grandaddy of gaming, recently sat down for an interview with IGN. They talked briefly about Nintendo's software development strategy heading into this crucial holiday season, and Miyamoto revealed that they were really hoping to get more out of their in-home teams -- especially Retro Studios, celebrated developer of Metroid Prime and Donkey Kong Country Returns.
While many fans are upset that the company's new game is a sequel to their Donkey Kong title, and not another entry in the Metroid series, Miyamoto implies that the studio could be making games more frequently in the future:
"Certainly we do feel that we want to leverage the capabilities of Retro Studios further, because as we've seen from the Metroid games, they're a very capable studio." — Shigeru Miyamoto

Please allow them to create something other than DK or Metroid, a new IP Miyamoto..
