Pikmin 3 is almost here and I really wanted to make this topic, I finally get to play something exiting and new while dusting off my Wii U.

 

I first saw Pikmin when I got my Gamecube on Christmas morning in 2001. I didn't hear or know what the hell it was. All I know is that my cousin liked it and she might thought I would like it since I was young, I started playing it and I thought it was really creative by the moving title screen, and I thought Olimar was like a long lost cousin of Mario because of his nose. The pikmin were funny when they do stuff because of the high pitched noises.

 

While I got to the next planet....I got sad. I went to the puddle and I noticed something.......My Pikmin were slowly dying, and then they all turned to ghosts and died right infront of me, I was so confused on what happened, I never completed it on my first try because I skipped 30 days and I got the sad ending, funny cause now I don't have Pikmin 1 but now I have Pikmin 2 all completed with all treasures on the GC version.

 

it was challenging back because of the spikes I have to go through, but now that I'm older and know what to do I can't wait to see all my pikmin die in the next month.

Never really experienced Pikim. I'm sure it's a great game... I just wasn't very interested in it during the time it came out on GCN.

I brought both with my second GameCube, so glad I did now because the games are amazing, looking forward to 3

got it on wii for 20 bucks, it's alright not a bad game but kinda gets old after a while...

i enjoyed the first Pikmin and own it, but interestingly enough I wasn't that into the game when I was a teenager and it was only about a year or two ago that I truly appreciated the game.  Really looking forward to getting Pikmin 3 and I might also pick up Pikmin 2 to try out the backwards compatibility for the wii u.

It was the year twenty oh three, I got a disease and needed to be treated right away. I got placed in hospital for 5 days so they could sort me out. During my time they had a gamecube there for all the sick kids to play, i for one was a sick kid so i played, and it was at that moment... i saw the legendary Pikmin game sitting there, waiting to be played! i placed the disk in a started playing right away! gathered 10 pikmin, pushed the block, got a ship piece than few away, then i came back to the planet and realized, i have only 30 days to collect all the ship pieces and get back to my home planet. It was right there and then i realized... I HATE BEING TIMED TO COMPLETE A GAME! Seriously how do they expect me to gather so many pieces of ship parts within a month, what happened if I collect them all but 1 and the day runs out? do i have to start over again? I didn't know I was only a kid, i didn't want to play a game where i would have to start again if i did something wrong. So i switched it off and started playing Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. Never touched a Pikmin case again. although there was one more time where i did touch the case and placed the game in, it was on the 26th July 2013... wait that's in the future? Oh my god i time traveled to the past! GUYS DON'T BE INSIDE MANCHESTER CITY ON THE 19th July 2013! It gets poisoned!!! GET OUT OF THEIR NOW!

I bought Pikmin + 2 because I wanted to give it a shot, and I liked it I liked the idea of gathering around stuff with a lot of Pikmin in the screen, and it was pretty challenging at first. The one day challenge is pretty cool as well. But my complaints that the game is pretty short. I haven't completed Pikmin 2 so I can give my opinions, but the 2 additional Pikmin are pretty cool. Though purple pikmin make carrying stuff very easy.

I never bothered playing Pikmin as I'm not into strategy games but I may give Pikmin 3 a shot.

I bought NPC! Pikmin a few months back. I really liked it, but I ended up screwing myself over on Day 16, 14 parts, and less than 30 Pikmin. Hoping I can beat Pikmin 3.

Pikmin 3 will be my first. I had a Gamecube too and the wii so I had chances just wasn't interested until now

Does playing the Pikmin minigame on Nintendo Land count? Because if so, that experience got me really interested in buying Pikmin 3.

I am shocked and appalled the majority of you have never played Pikmin!

 

It might not be everyone's taste but I guarantee if you spent 1 hour playing the original you wouldn't be able to put it down. Back in the day the graphics and gameplay were some of the best that generation not to mention how each level was realistic in a sense.

 

My first experience was one reason I am still gaming today and nothing has touched Pikmin as far as I'm concerned with regard to originality.

I went to my friend's house amd played Pikmin 2 battle mode when I was wondering where Olimar came from and he happened to have it. Years later I got the NPC Pikmin 2. I never got the first one, but I've watched multiple Let's Plays of it, so I feel like I'm covered. I will still gwt it if I can find it though.
