This is good news! It looks like a beautiful game, and for the amount different AIs running and it can still push 1080p that says only good things about the system! Hopefully it runs 60 FPS..

720p, my guess is it outputs in 1080p, but renders at 720p, and its explaining that off to the right.

Its not as good as native 1080p, but i doubt most people would be able to tell the difference.

Which is what I expect from the majority of games on Wii U.  Luckily, like the 360 the Wii U has a good upscaler, and scales 720p to 1080p very well.  Its still 720p, but unlike the PS3 where it scales the image like crap and actually makes it look worse, the Wii U maintains good quality even when upscaling to 1080p.  Upscaling is all about retaining image quality, not about making it better.  A lot of people seem to think that an upscaler makes a 720p image look even better, but really its just trying to keep the original content intact.

Like you said it's not that much of a difference if it was rendered in 1080p instead, rendering it in 720p probably allows them to incorporate more anti-aliasing, etc.

Are those actual in game footage? I have ha hard time believing they would render all those flowers and have the pikmin walk through an be hidden by them.

This game just looks too gorgeous! I normally would wait to buy most of my games used but I cannot wait to experience these visuals.
