I think Nintendo will go with $349.99 US. I can't see them charging more than $400 and really, after buying the console and then at least 1 game to go with it, you are spending $400ish

Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

the more and more quotes i keep reading from them.... the more i believe they will go over 400. the most recent quote the nintnedo president made it seem like you have to be a "BALLER" to get this console.

Nintendo SAID they learned the lesson with 3DS. If they did, I expect they'll give it for $300 USD or $350 USD. Anyway, I will wait for 2013 or 2012 holidays so I can get a bundle or the black version.

Yeah, you've done a great job so far, letting the Metal Heads destroy the palace.

Nintendo should definetly not go above $400. If they price it at $400, the launch line-up better rock my world. However, I don't see them pricing it at $400. I would say $300 or $350, depending on if it comes with a pack-in game. One thing they could do is 2 controller bundles:
Wii Remote Plus/Nunchuck(no tablet controller): $300
Tablet controller(no wii remote plus/nunchuk): $400

i agree they will definately not go over $400, no way, especially in this economic climate, i totally see it being $300-350. but i don't think theres even the slightest chance of a bundle without the tablet controller, its the main focus of the console and i think most games will use it, if not all. however i do think they should do bundles with and without wii mote and nunchuku.

I agree I would pay $400 for Wii U, but no more than that. I imagine if the price is above $300, it would come with a pack-in game of some sort.

Agreed. It is ALL about the tablet controller for innovation. The hardware will rock, it will def be affordable still, because they will need to sell A LOT of them at launch. Momentum (as has been explained before by Reggie himself) is essential in this business, so steady sales will need to be achieved very quickly. It will be a knock on effect I think when the Wii U launches, the 'BALLERS' (thanks Tron) will pick it up from launch, word of mouth about quality and its appeal will quickly spread into mainstream, and to the wider communities. There just has to be enough promise for features and what to expect before Xmas 2012 so that many more people will pick it up. Nintendo will have to learn a few new tricks mind, tactile pricing first...this old dog ain't dead yet!
BANGIN!

Nintendo may do what they did with the 3ds and take a lost to keep the console's price low while make it up in game sells.

True , but how much of a loss wouldn't Nintendo be willing to take? I dont think a big loss, certainly not as big as Sony took with the PS3 launch. Say the Wii U is a $330 box. If nintendo sells at a loss, the price would probably be $300. If they sell for profit(which they probably will), the price will be $350.

I'm guessing 300 exactly, because Nintendo will learn from their mistake with the 3ds price. :D

If not the highest they could possibly go is 400 :( .

reggie said in an interview that they're not going to have a high price at launch then drop price a few months or a year later. he said theyre going to start off as cheap as they can, and keep the same price for 2-3 years; he said they dont want people to wait for a price drop, but rather buy it straight away cos there isnt going to be one. and it will definitely come with a game.

I think $300 - £250 since the hardware it's using isn't very expensive nowadays. And the controller doesn't look too expensive.

£250 isn't too bad actually... the 3DS was £220 at launch...
