I would expect something like $450 (mostly because of the controller and its features). However, I would be happy if Lain and JessPrime guessed the price correctly.

I really feel that $300 is the way Nintendo is going. Maybe $350, but no more than that.

My problem with $300, is that that number seems to be too much a loss. And yeah, I don't see Nintendo wanting to sell this at a loss. Assuming a Wii U controller is packed in with it, $300 is super unlikely. $350 is definitely the lowest I'd imagine them going at, with $400 being the next most likely.

Agreed ^

rememeber people they said this would cost alot more than the wii launch price($250)

which leads me to assume it will be at least $100 more in price

We really don't know at what base they will be imagining the 'real' price structure to surround. It could be the Yen, American Dollar, hell maybe even the Euro (but thats in crisis so probably not lol)...so all this guess-work will probably not pay off. We only have things local to compare with our assumptions. You cannot really compare the Wii U to anything here and now (unless you have any suggestions? And don't remind me on current consoles..they're dated for over 5 years) so discovering a price is tough. What I'm sure we would all agree on, with the right balance of quality and value for money is anything between £299 and £399..but even with that much, I am not confident I am correct at all.

"It is not going to be priced like Wii" Reggie? It will be a serious piece of kit. That can come at a high price, and especially since we always get premium prices in Europe, it wouldn't surprise me if they tried to introduce it just over £400...god forbid >.<

Yeah, it's the reason why the 3DS was so expensive at launch, and why the DSi is so expensive. Retailers literally put whatever price they want and say it's an RRP when Nintendo can't set an RRP in the EU.

I am going to guess $350 USD. The price point has to be sweet in order for the mass market to grapple on. This e3 is going to be critical in determining whether the Wii U will be a must have item. They must disrupt the market once more and create a media that device that everyone will want. I do believe they will show the true pulse at e3. I for one am excited!

I would be willing to buy the WiiU at a maximum of $400 (CAD), that's with the 8GB of flash memory. If there is a model more expensive with more memory i'd still go with the 8GB one... i can always add a HDD later, i got plenty. I'm guessing there gonna release some surprises at E3 because (i know Nintendo often releases info really early but..) I feel they said too much too soon if that is all the WiiU is. I'd hope for some surprises to boost anticipation and therefore first day sales. Here's hopin'. Of course that price point i said is assuming there will be new stuff at E3 for the WiiU (ie extensive online network), if the WiiU is what we think it is now, with only confirmed details... uhhhh, $280... yeah. It's not quite impressive enough... yet.

Even the 8GB of flash was only a rumour, the only things Nintendo has said about the storage is that it's flash memory, and can be expanded by SD card or an external HDD.

Read this paragraph

"Some analysts have blamed the increased popularity of smartphones and tablets for Nintendo’s problems, but the strong yen seems to be the bigger issue for the company, which suggests the Wii U, Nintendo’s next console, will probably be more expensive outside of Japan than we first expected."

Nintendo lost a lot of money from currency conversion, meaning they may increase the prices drastically outside of Japan. This may explain why they tried to get away with selling the 3DS at $250

$399.99! Nintendo will take a lost on the console but not on the touch screen controller. That would split it in half; Controller $200, Console 200(losing around $100 per console).

I think the controller will cost £70 and the console will cost £100.
Although if you add localisation and other things like that it could easily cost £300 which I'm happy to pay for if it has some pre installed games
