I'm only a Nord because I wanted to start the game more quickly. I am actually planning on going back and creating two to three other characters. An imperial guard(Unless my Nord becomes one), a Stormcloak, and Larry.
I chose a Nord because I am new to the game. I was originally going for a mage, but ended up a one-handed sword and use either a shield or spell in my other hand(usually healing, its my highest magic).

It really depends on your style of gameplay, Nords are the vanilla characters in Skyrim. Once people have enough experience, they end up maining as a separate character.
My friend was a Nord just to see the regular storyline, then played the game as a dark elf. My other friend choose a Khajit because he was one in Oblivion and likes the thief style of gameplay.

Just as I expected, the eagle thing in Fate/Zero was useless. Also, if she had her gun, why did she wait until the dude was free to take it out?! That's just not good!
