@ 3dude: yeah ok the skylanders game has an assumingly not earned score on wii u in metacritic but my point is that I expected mk to be the best wii u game so far and not a 89. and nintendo couldve easily achieved that by making a good, up to date online and good characters. like this its just an awesome game but not " perfect" as it couldve been. and for people like me who wanted the good online badly its just annoying and leaves me wondering WHY NINTENDO? WHY?
I think you may regretfully find in the future you are putting way too much emphasis and stock in numbers arbitrarily supplied by gamz girnoliz who often are bought out, bribed, or when they arent, are entirely too incompetent to figure out how the game they are reviewing works.
IGN gave Godhand a 3. Looooong after the review, from outrage of players who actually could play games, and youtube videos showing how to play the game properly came out, IGN realized their mistake, and God hand now has a solid place in their greatest games of all time list... Despite its still standing review score of 3. Unfortunately, ign was not alone, and the incompetent reviews of god hand, and the effect it had on sales, lead Capcom to shut down the Creativity LOVER studio, and ultimately led to a chain reaction of events: an exodus of all of capcoms talent, leading to things like the cancellation of mega man legends 3, and the generally pathetic clueless state capcom is in today.
That situation is once again mirrored today, once again with clover studios, now platinum games. The best game on the wii u, of the generation so far on any system, has a metacritic of 79, because a handful of incompetent reviewers couldnt figure out how to play the game.
Metacritic hasnt been what it was intended to be ever since large publishing houses caught onto it....
Like any other game, I wouldnt rely too much on reviews, I use them for media, like screenshots and videos, but they are often so full of misinformation I cant listen to what they have to sa, as it seems whether its true or not is a complete gamble. Especially on nintendo systems..
Wait a day or two on mk8. See what real people have to say, see if the online system is really as horrible as the monster in your imagination right now. Odds are it wont be that bad.
Just to clear up any misinformation from the erroneous ign review, in mk8, you can see all your freinds who are online, and you CAN join them at the push of an on screen button, send invites to them to join your lobby while they are in a public game, and you can recieve invites from others to join their lobbies, and yes, you actually CAN send messages. What you cant do is invite freinds to a public lobby, obviously to discourage organized bullying, and other methods of greifing public games. Check out game explains coverage of the online system to debunk ign's.... misinterpretations.
And heres hoping for some dlc racer packs. That would be pretty nice.
