Maybe... I'd love to finish this, so we'll see how it goes... I'll have to change some sounds, though. One is a Virtual Riot sample and the screetchy synth doesn't quite sound right...

Ok... so I tried to master my own song (tried). It doesn't have any clipping, but since I'm not experienced with this kind of stuff at all, I need some other opinions on whether or not I did it correctly.

Also, I saw that you got your new song Momentum signed Hinkik. Congrats! It was even featured on electro-edm.com. That's awesome!

Btw your master, it's distorting at various places. The highs are a little high at some places. Width of the upper harmonics of the synth could get wider.

Dang, I was hoping that it was just my headphones being bad and it wasn't actually distortion lol. I'll play around with it and see what I can do.

 

And I'm slowly making midi's and stuff (I'm being lazy) but the project file is almost done! XD

Here's a dude I discovered just a few weeks ago via Twitch... Second Flight! He only has around 300 followers on Soundcloud, so nothing big yet (no offence to any of us ), but just listen to this beauty...

 

 

It's right up there with the likes of Laszlo, Au5, Volant, or whatever other big melodic dubstep/electro/glitch hop artists out there, IMO. It's just full of joy and great little details. It's always moving, always changing... The true sign of mastery, I think.

 

So yeah, I'm really looking forward to more of his stuff. What are some of you guys' favorite artists/songs that the rest of us might not have heard of?

Pretty good stuff. He did remind me a lot of Volant, but not as complex as his stuff. Idk i you've ever seen screenshots of hist porject files, but... 

 

...yeah. Pretty complex.

 

Also though i would mention how weird it is to hear Volant be mentioned beside someone like AU5. Been following him since like 5k subs on soundcloud under his first alias, maybe less. And he was on my radar months before that. Sorry just had to let the hipster in me out for a little.

 

But yeah, all the "unknown" artists I follow are actually pretty big these days, and you guys probably already know them. So this is the only guy  can think to post. Discovered him very recently when I "lost" to him in a remix contest like 2 weeks ago:

Yeah his stuff is great. Kinda strange that he doesn't have more followers. I have almost as many as he do and my stuff is miles behind that.

Apparently it's a tracker file, so idk what each different thing is. I'm assuming it is an equivalent to channels though.

Well, here's a slightly updated version of both drops... Nothing much different, just a few tweaks that I thought made it sound better. I need to just finish this. All I really need now is an intro, breakdown, buildup and outro... Ugh, I can't get motivated. Maybe a stream would help?

Would seriously like to hear it finished though, sounds great so far.

 

I don't know if you guys have heard Worlds by Porter Robinson before. Sure you've heard of it at least. If you haven's already though, it's definitely worth a listen since it's kind of changed the direction a lot of electronic musicians are heading in. Also my favourite album.

Anyway kind of wanted to try messing around with that style a while back, so here' something I'm slowly working on. Pretty (and by pretty I mean very) rough at this point, but hoping to make something cool with it.

I don't know if you know who telepathics is (she's worked on a couple tracks with some semi famous people in the EDM community, most notably Nitro Fun (who is also her boyfriend I believe)) but she held a remix contest where she uploaded those vocals and said people could do whatever with them, royalty free. They were pretty rough (her mic is kinda crappy lol) but I can upload and post the original file and my EQ of it if you want.

Sounds really nice. What wavetable is it though? I am looking into creating a reese bass at the moment and your bass sounds somewhat like I want my reese to do.

For the growl you mean? I can't remember, lol... I was watching a Virtual Riot livestream where he made a growl and I based mine off that.

Ok lol. I'll send the flp and the drums and such that I used. For some reason the midis I tried making kept corrupting so I've been trying to figure that out.
