Is there a way we can enable swearing (or disable it)? I understand if people get easily offended and want to have it on, but reading fork and carp on the forums just seems so weird and doesn't convey the proper emotion. I'm ok with seeing ppl's swear words, so if there is an option to allow it, let me know please and thanks :)

Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

There isn't an option, but they shouldn't be trying to bypass the filter anyway. Swearing is against the rules.

It'd be nice to have a plain swearfilter for people who don't care about ponies though.
Nice for you mlpf ... people, but for people who just come here to discuss a nintendo console it may be a little weird.

To be able to turn it on and off would be a little complicated since that would be user data, and may not necessarily be a pre-set option, but I know most forum bases have a built in swear filter that can be toggled and specified.

Swearing is against TheWiiU.com's rules. You shouldn't be doing it anyway - and a pony-themed swear filter is all the more reason for you to not do it. ;P

(you might not actually believe this, but I implemented the pony-themed swear filter well over a year ago, long before I even knew about MLP:FiM)

IP.Board only allows the swear filter to be controlled globally. It is impossible to toggle it on a per-user basis, as your post is processed and filtered for swear words before being saved into the database.

Ah ok. That makes profanity filters impossible.

... Turning off the profanity filter in Runescape was the best thing I ever did in that game.

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

Yeah, I did the same thing with Kirby's Epic Yarn. That narrator was such a smut mouth.

Honestly, if swearing offends you that much you shouldn't be on the Internet. A swear filter is quite pointless.

Not impossible.
You could throw in a switch when it's being added to the database, and then pick the case based on user settings while the page is loading.

I wouldn't bother.
I'm just saying it's doable with aboot 20 minutes, but the next update would be ugly.

Use other words to convey your emotions; swearing is the cheap way.

Also, this site is owned by a brony. There will be absolutely no cursing whatsoever.

I doubt it's because he likes children's cartoons for young girls.

It's because he wants the forum to be safe for everyone to have friendly discussions about a game console.

It does not matter that he is a Brony. He actually lets his MLP forum use language.

Just look at this:

http://mlpforums.com..._caps lock pony

Don't you think you should give both of you forums equal privileges?

Agreed i didnt know this but i cant agree with such a rule against swearing, if a bunch of pony loving kids and adults get to curse on their forum it makes no sense.

Im gonna go ask elric why we can't swear here. ^_^

OT: I definately had to use urban dictionary to figure out what a "brony" is.You learn something new everyday.
