Thought I'd start this off with a link to a suspiciously-named domain ;)

I think Nintendo could have done with announcing Mario Kart U at E3 actually...

Think about it. It's a hardcore franchise that would have generated quite an amount of hype. But it still has absolutely MASSIVE casual appeal even YEARS after release. Just look at Mario Kart Wii and DS, they still sell even to this day. Getting a Mario Kart out for Wii U in the launch window would have been a great move for both core and casual gamers.

Well, I suppose they don't want anyone else to steal that name.

If this was at launch, the Wii U's will sell millions.

Hi, my name is Alph. I live on a planet named Koppai. I am famous for saving my planet from starvation. My best friends are Brittany and Captain Olimar, NOT Captain Charlie. I like surfing the KopNet and playing Kopetball.

They should change the Blue shells back how they were, and keep the cockpit view.

Companies usually buy all the domains with any sort of name that they could possibly use in the future so that other people don't buy them and then try and charge an absolute ridiculous price to the company releasing the game.

Even though I have no doubt that there will be a Mariokart game, we can't know for sure that it will be here soon, unless something has been said that I've missed out on? In which case, disregard this entire post :P

It's much more of a casual game than it is a core one.

With the community system they added in MK7 they can easily just improve on that idea so that you can play without the blue shell if you wish.

This statement is false. The previous statement is true.

RIP in peace Nintendo.

The blue shell is essential to Mario Kart, but yeah I wouldn't be surprised if there was an item selection option there if you REALLY want it off.

The blue shell and bullet are the most unbalancing items ever. Give me the option of turning them off and I'll be happy.

It really just depends on what you play the game for. Blue shells etc are great fun in a party environment, and if you're not so insecure you can stand losing once or twice. However if you are the sort of person who prefers ultra skill based competitive games, I can see why it wouldn't be your cup of tea.

I think they're unfair. I try hard to get the damn first place using actual SKILL and then because some Mcguffin is lucky, I lose my position.

Red shells you can actually defence yourself against. You always find a banana or something.
Green shells require slight skill to be effective.
Bananas/false blocks require skill to be placed correctly.
Mushrooms require 'skill' to use them in tactical places.
Bombs require aiming skills to throw (or have a good timing and place them behind you)

But you can do NOTHING about a blue shell and it makes everything just really unbalanced.
No sig.

Yeah right. As if whenever you get to #1 in MK it is due to skill. ^_^
If you are skilled, dodge the damn things. I did it in an official Nintendo tournament 3 times on a track and won against players on par with me (records and line-wise) due to that.

And Nintendo doesn't always hoard all domains that might be useful. I got mariokartwiiu.com myself last year but dropped it because of Nintendo going the "U"-way. Get the domain if you want, it's still free I think :D

I want an option to turn off those unbalancing items. They are only there so that a newbie can get a good place.

I hate it when I am 1st the whole race and just before goal in the last lap there comes a blueshell, geez.
